RE: Just …
I had been out shopping in Brugge and when I returned to my base I put the TV on to watch “Thunderbirds” which had been shown on the Flemish/Dutch channel. Instead I saw a burning skyscraper. At first I wondered what the hell it was, as I could not read the little caption on the screen from the distance I was standing with the remote control. When I read the caption and saw what was happening I won’t repeat what I said because I would probably be banned from the forum. Angry does not even come close. And when I found out later that people I knew had lost loved ones…

RE: In memory of victims of 9/11.. please all sign!
Whose side are you on Geforce? You sound like a typical Amnesty International do-gooder, they had no thought for the victims of 9/11 either. I know two families who lost loved ones on that date (one a brother, another one a cousin) and I know how they felt about the whole thing. My thoughts will always be with the innocent who suffered on that date, and stillcontinue to suffer every day that they are without their loved ones (one of the families I knew never even had a body to mourn, their brother was simply posted as “missing” and never found or heard from again. To make it all worse for these people they saw the moment their loved ones died replayed over and over again on TV, which was a traumatic experience. The world should never be allowed to forget what happened on 9/11, I certainly never will, and it should never be allowed to happen again.

RE: London City – Brilliant Airport
I’m now back from my holiday – absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! My return flight into London City was fun, and the approach involved hell of alot of tight turns (just typical that I was at the wrong side – the right had the best view and the left saw mostly sky on the approach). It was my first international flight on the Fokker 50, though I’ve flown on the type on Icelandic domestic flights.
Saab – VLM are a great airline. Their turn around time is alot faster than major airlines, we were called through at LCY before our aircraft had touched down and within 10 minutes of landing we were aboard and less than half an hour after landing the aircraft was airborne again. The onboard service is excellent, the crew are friendly and the aircraft nice and clean even though very little pre-take off work is done on them. I don’t know about the food as I’d already eaten in the airport, but I’d heard other travellers saying it was quite good. The only thing is that their brochure states that they have a Fokker 50 fleet “all with leather seats”, well, ours didn’t have one leather seat (I flew on the same aircraft both ways, it is probably kept specially at Brussels for the LCY flight as VLM do not serve anywhere else from BRU).[http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/sabenabelgianairlines]

Air New Zealand is the worst airline I’ve ever flown with.[http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/sabenabelgianairlines]

RE: Have any of you met another forum member?
Our media doesn’t go into such detail unfortunately Frank, it just says Spa in the race programme. It may be expensive (sounds like Harrogate, the spa town in North Yorkshire), but I can easily spend the day there by train, it was either that or Liege, another easy to reach place.
Sabena_A340, I don’t know yet if I’ll get chance to go to Hasselt, but if I get a spare day I’ll mail you in advance and arrange something, I would love to see your dog. It’s easy to get the train from Brugge to Hasselt, I do know that!!!

RE: Book of remembrance for Jessica Chapman & Holly Wells
I’ve just signed that book, and put a message in from my Mum who wrote one before I came online. I read that people from all over the world have added messages.

RE: Can we get over the grief first?
No Geforce, I am not out of my mind. I do not believe that animals should be used in medical experiements as they react differently to drugs than humans (I know all this for a fact as I have worked in both the medical field and the veterinary field). Thalidomide causes serious damages to foetuses when taken by pregnant HUMANS but does not have this effect in pregnant LABORATORY ANIMALS. Penicillin is fatal to guinea pigs, but not to humans unless you are seriously allergic. Okay, some criminals maybe “only” thieves, pickpockets etc, but that does not mean we should be inflicted with them on the streets. I am extremely intolerant of crime and I am proud of that. You Geforce are beginning to sound like one of those criminal-loving halfwits from Amnesty International (AI are good initials for that organisation, could also be taken to mean Artificial Insemination). They are always crowing on about poor bad done to criminals, poor asylum seekers (amazing how many Al Qaeda members have gained entry to Europe purely by claiming asylum). I do not want to fall out with you Geforce, but we should accept that we do not agree on some issues and leave it at that.

I’m not in time to see any of the Belgian shows, I go on 3rd September. To all my drinking acquaintances in Brugge, see you all soon and get the Sloebers in. I’m also off to Spa, but thankfully I won’t be there when the Grand Prix is on 🙂
