Back to the Vikings
I would want to go back to the Viking Age in Iceland, I read so many of the Sagas and old Icelandic poems, and visited the country several times on holiday, I would like to see it before all the towns were built and it really was almost unspoilt with only small farms. It truly is a superb country but is now more commercialised with more bars and nightclubs than I remember from when I used to go.[http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/sabenabelgianairlines]
RE: Your Favorite Jet Airliner
VERY difficult to pick just one, I have been on so many types and liked them all, not to mention my favourites for photographic reasons, but here goes. I will go with the Boeing 747-400, looks great from the side, superb take off, advanced flight deck and simnply unbeatable comfort if you’re lucky enough to be in an exit row, like I was on a 14 1/2 hour flight once. The only other 747 type I’ve flown on was the “100”, but I was only five at the time and don’t remember much about it.
RE: Pets
I have a crazy Labrador x Curly Coat Retriever called Dexter and five Bengalese finches.
I’ve also owned – a hawfinch called Sabena, tropical and cold water fish, a pony called Stjarna (Icelandic meaning “Star”), a dalmatian called Lukki, a brown Burmese called Simba, a Siamese which had a kitten, five zebra finches, two lovebirds, two canaries, a weimaraner. I wanted to be a vet, so pets were always a natural addition to our household.

RE: Im pleased with myself
You are so lucky!!!!!! I’ve been in a jump seat once, on a Boeing 747-400 of Air New Zealand flying from LHR-LAX, and it a superb experience.
RE: New Look For BE
I prefer the scheme on Kabir’s pic. How many millions will the latest change have cost?
RE: SN Brussels Airlines …
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-07-02 AT 01:36 PM (GMT)]Noah, sorry for taking a while to reply, I only have computer access twice a week at the moment. The Sabena Group was originally on Yahoo Clubs, which I personally preferred. The group works in a similar way to this forum – you need a Yahoo ID and then you click on the join link, after that you can post messages on the club in much the same way as you do on here, I do not moderate membership so you would be approved straight away and be able to post. You need an e-mail address, but you can choose to keep it hidden if you wish. I am always pleased to get new members in the group, it is good to get new input of ideas, and opinions are always welcomed. You could choose to get postings sent to your e-mail address, or you could read them on the group pages, and you would be able to download photos into the album.
As for the fascination with Belgian aviation, that is not entirely easy to explain but I’ll do my best. I had always wanted to fly with Sabena, and when I finally visited Brussels they were my natural choice. The crew on the flight were great, and had genuine humour, they were the best I ever flew with and I just loved Belgium – the food, the countryside and the architecture of the towns, I go there every year and I always fly, but this year I won’t be flying with SN Brussels because they weren’t established when I booked my trip, so I’ll be flying with VLM. I like the friendliness and humour of the Belgians, not to mention the beer, and I think their airlines have had a bad deal in the past few years, which is a shame compared to the bad attitude of some airlines which are still flying. RE: SN Brussels Airlines …
I would be glad to see the back of VEX, I’m not a fan of those cheap airlines and prefer the major carriers. I would not, however, consider flying to Brussels with BA.[http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/sabenabelgianairlines]
RE: Hi, new to the forum
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-07-02 AT 01:49 PM (GMT)]A330Crazy – I agree wholeheartedly with your views on the Sabena colours.
Yes, SN Brussels are using the A330 on flights to Africa from Brussels. The Avros are for European flights.
Mongu – you have excellent taste in photos[http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/sabenabelgianairlines]
RE: air new zealand to get a32
They’re not my favourites Kabir, but I was just making a general comment 🙂 I was flying from Sydney to Auckland and I couldn’t believe that a Boeing 747-400 was scheduled to do the flight when there were so few passengers, everyone almost had a free choice of seats. I would have thought from the point of view of Air New Zealand that it would have been more economical to use a Boeing 737 (even then it would not have been full) which I would have thought uses less fuel than the 747?
RE: air new zealand to get a320s
Last time I flew “trans Tasman” with Air New Zealand it was on a quarter full 747-400, very uneconomical I would have thought.[http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/sabenabelgianairlines]
RE: SOME PICS OF ME AT WORK!!!
Very good to see a different type of photo on here (not that I don’t like the take off and landing photos on pic of the day, but flight deck photos are never posted). The only flightdeck I’ve ever experienced is the Boeing 747-400, on an Air New Zealand aircraft. I would love to see the fly by wire Airbus flightdecks, but I don’t really like asking now after the events of last year. Please post more flightdeck pics someone.[http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/sabenabelgianairlines]
