I’ve never heard of him, but I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in “celebrities” and don’t know one “celebrity” from another.

We always had it on when I was a kid, but I was never a mega fan of it. I remember back in the 1980s they showed some of the original black and white episodes, including the first one, and I preferred them to the more up to date ones. Maybe they should have done the same for this anniversary.

Rumour has it Jim is already queueing outside his local HMV store to bag the first copies…. It’s going to be a long cold Christmas. :highly_amused:

I like Christmas itself, but the run up to it is a pain with all the shopping and the pressure to buy more and more presents which get dearer every year. Scarborough is a drab hole at Christmas as well. My favourite Christmases of recent years were the ones spent in Belgium, with nice Christmas markets and ice skating in the town squares and everything lit up nice and going out for a meal on Christmas Day and a nice Christmas beer at night. Our Belgian Christmases came to an end in 2009 with the useless, incompetent Euro”star” trains all breaking down because they had been snowed on.
