Visit http://www.cpavirtual.org then the “Flying Tigers” link – they have Delta, Icelandair and many others. You have to pass an entrance exam with more than 70% to join them. Don’t know about Aeroflot though, never seen one for them.

All the best to u mate! U’ll have a great time with us!

Thanks! I got my acceptance e-mail yesterday, so I didn’t have to wait one day. I posted on the forum pretty quick, it is a good one, and I am now looking for a route for my first flight, I am aiming at MAN-BRU.

Great shots, I love the one with the seats! I have a MelJet 777, I shall have to try and get that view on mine next time I fly it.

Nice to see that some World Tails are still available to download. I am looking for some, but regional types – namely the ERJ with the tartan tail (must be the ERJ) and a Dash 8 with the Poland scheme (I saw this in MAN and it is a beautiful design). Does anyone know where I can find them? I am soon to make my first flight for BA Virtual, and naturally I will be flying a regional aircraft, so one with a World Tail would be very nice!

All I can say is don’t use the keyboard for controlling the control surfaces, it is a real pain! I tried it a coiple of times, and was soon very glad to install a joystick because that does make things alot easier.

After reading all the replies to this topic, I decided to take the plunge and applied to join BA Virtual. The current wait is 1 day, I was told. I have just obtained a beautiful ARJ package which contains QANTAS, US Airways, Jazz, Lufthansa (very handy for my LCY-FRA flight next week) and British Airways. I am hoping that when I get accepted into BAV that I can fly the regional jet types because that fleet goes to all my favourite airports – MAN, BHX, LCY and best of all – BRU 😀

When I looked at the BA list a couple of days ago, there was instant acceptance and no wait period, so it might be a good time to join now.

I’m registered on VATSIM, but a flight online is unlikely for me at the moment because of the automatic 2 hour cut off time imposed by my ISP 🙁

The BA Virtual does have a very impressive website. I considered joining them, but I wanted an airline which used the CRJ for regular flying, a reason I selected Delta, and I can also fly for LH Virtual and they have a good fleet.

I bet one of the fun aspects of flying for Ryanair virtual is the chance to have a go with those logo jets! I have Jaguar in my own collection, what a shame it no longer flies for FR.

I’ll be in BHX on the 2nd November from around 12:30 until the evening (or for as long as we can see from the Aviation Experience!) I’m staying in Birmingham city centre for a couple of nights whilst I have a day in Brussels flying out from BHX in the morning of 3rd November and coming back in the evening.

I’m next in Brussels on Wednesday 3rd November, arriving on flight SN2038 from BHX, and departing the same day on flight SN2047. In the short hours between that, I am hoping to get some of my favourite beers for Christmas (already got two Sloebers in the cupboard, but with Sloeber two is never enough, I adore the stuff!)

I will be there for longer next year, possibly a couple of days in March, but that’s not finalised yet.

    Thanks for comments!

As to what camera do I use, well I used a Kodak DX4530, but it broke yesterday and I don’t know what the problem is so it’s going back on Monday 🙁 It was a great camera as well, it had all the features that I like – several shooting modes, zoom lens, video recording. It was 5 mega pixels and had a 32MB internal memory, so I am not happy at the moment.

Back to the inflight meals, the veg sticks and cake are actually better examples of the cold Brussels Bistro snacks, the others are indescribable and tasteless.

Stieglitz – I will take note of the place you recommend, as I will definitely visit Brugge again, it’s my favourite city. Oud Brugge is one I like (can really recommend) because we went in there a couple of times for meals, and the food is wonderful and the chips are the real thing. We avoid eating on the Markt because of the prices, but just away from here are some really great places I think.

Back to Zandloper, we went in here alot in 2001 and 2002 without any problem at all, we were surprised when we had that hassle with the beer (and just glad that we are tourists who know Belgian beer so we ended up making the owners look stupid :diablo: )

In November I will be in Falstaff or Chez Leon (though I prefer Falstaff) for a meal because I only have a few hours in Brussels to buy some beer.

Slightly off topic here, but the De Zandloper in Brugge is a bar which likes to think it can con tourists, until they dealt with us and met their match!!

They serve beer in the wrong glasses, thinking that tourists don’t know one beer from another, but when we went in and ordered Malheur Blond and Kwak, we knew immediately that it was wrong when the Malheur glass contained something resembling De Koninck in colour, and the Kwak glass contained a pale blond beer. The bimbo of a “barmaid” thought it was funny, until they realised that we knew our beers, then they had to bring the beers in the correct glasses, so it cost them an extra bottle of beer because there was no way we were paying for beer served in the wrong glasses.

When in Brugge, visit ‘t Brugs Beertje (sadly closed on Wednesday, that is why we ended up in Zandloper). There the beer is poured in front of you, and it is always in the correct glass. The beer range is superb as well.

The owners of De Zandloper are con artists and low lifes!!!!!!!! (And it would really please me if they happened to read this, or the review I wrote about them on Luchtzak.be!)

What a pity this is not a couple of weeks ago, I could have showed you all my darling favourite beers (and introduced you to the incomparable Sloeber!) I won’t be back until November 🙁 (And I would rather sample the delights of SNBA than the grossness of a ferry, flying is so much more fun 😀 )

I will enjoy BHX-BRU, I think BHX is a superb airport to depart from, especially on the 08:50 flight to BRU, the airport is quiet at the time you are checking in, it certainly was when we did that run in March.

I too like Kwak, though we didn’t drink on the Grand Place this time because we headed out to Schuman to go to the best chippie in Brussels and then went to the Atomium to go up inside it the day before it closed down (until March 2006). Such a shame it will be to see the delightful Atomium covered in scaffolding.

If ever you go to Brugge, avoid the bar called De Zandloper.
