Great photos! The Air Malta is my favourite.
3 hours should be plenty of time.
There are regular transfer buses between the terminals
To get to them from your arrival gate, simply follow the purple “Flight Connection” signs. It really couldn’t be easier. I found that at several intersections, there are large walls with flight information which tell you exactly where to go. And failing that there staff in purple uniforms that, with one glance of your ticket, can tell you precisely where to go.Just follow purple! Purple is what you want.
However, I am not familiar with how up to day T1 was. I connected between T5 and T3 in April this year. The signage is simple and very obvious. Follow the purple signs.
I remember the “Flight Connection” signs petered out in Terminal 1, and didn’t lead anywhere. That is why we eventually ended up on the Heathrow Express because we didn’t want to miss our flight.
I once had to transfer from T1 to T4, the transfer signs in T1 were very poor so I went and got on the Heathrow Express to T4. Maybe you can do that to T5?
It does imply that plane spotters are male, which I can assure you is not always the case!!
Websites I use:
Aviation – this one (obviously!) Luchtzak, Flightradar 24 (for tracking my upcoming flight number every day to see what aircraft LH are using on the service and how late it takes off :D), Plane Finder for the same reason, Manchester Airport.
News – BBC, Daily Mail, Daily Express (though not as often as I used to since they redesigned the website and made it horrendously slow!) Scarborough News (for local news).
Facebook for catching up with friends in other areas and joining in discussions, also for posting my photos.
Pinterest.
Tumblr.
Amazon and ebay.
Premium Bonds to see if I win a million and can finally get away from here 😀
Twitter (though that is mostly by mobile).
Three when I want to top up my phone.
Youtube.
Various ebook sites when I want something new to read on my Kindle.
Any other site depending on what mood I’m in.

As the grand daughter of an RAF World War 2 veteran, I find many of the modern attitudes to RAF Bomber Command offensive and distasteful. It makes me angry.
These people who condemn our brave servicemen never seem to have any condemnation for the Luftwaffe bombings of London, Coventry, York, Hull, Sheffield, Glasgow, Exeter, Manchester, Liverpool, Canterbury, Bath. They all go on about Dresden, Berlin, Hamburg but they casually forget that British cities were attacked before any RAF planes went near Dresden.
My Nan, who lived in Barnsley during the war, used to tell me how she heard bombs dropping on Sheffield and they could see the resulting fires as far away as Barnsley – the apologists never mention anything like that.

I used to love ‘Not the Nine o’clock News’, a sad loss.

Just a twist on what CAN happen, My son, has told me that a member of his Staff, a female, took a “Sickie” off work for the day, then posted on F/B that in actual fact she had been to her boyfriends Passing Out Parade in the Army.
Seems like she is due to be, “Services no longer required”. She would have been given a days A/Leave, had she asked. The irony of not being Up Front and honest.

That is why you never friend people you work with, and why you keep your posts private.

I think when used sensibly Facebook is OK. It’s no different to checking the posts on any discussion forum in my opinion, but you have to be sensible on there.
I would never “friend” anyone I worked with, you could have posted something which you wouldn’t want your work colleagues or boss to see and you hear of folk getting sacked for stuff they have posted on Facebook.
I never have my posts viewable by “public” – only friends, and some posts are for certain selected friends only.
I have found cousins I lost touch with ages ago on Facebook, and found out about new family members through the site, so it does have some positive points too.
