Horrid, horrid, horrid, horrid, horrid, horrid, horrid, horrid, horrid!!!
It looks cheap, it looks tacky, it looks bloody awful! I much prefer the older one, that looked smart and classy.
At least I won my “bet” on another forum about the new name though!
So it’s all “frozzen” on t’other side o’ Pennines then?
Bit like Scarborough!
Those who support al-Qaeda have no right to live, it’s as simple as that.
And what were these so called “British” organisms doing fighting on the side of the enemy anyway? They are only “British” when things go wrong for them, and then they expect the British to bail them out. Otherwise they make no bones about saying how evil and decadent the West is (whilst drawing more money in benefits than proper British people get) and how the West must be exterminated. If they hate us so much why do they continue to infest our country? They chose to come here and sponge, we do not make them (personally I would be happy if they all cleared off back to where they came from, our of the primeval sludge they crawled out of, if they are only wanting to incite murder and terrorism). The world would be better without them.

I think that the terrorist should be tried in the country he was or was going to terrorise. When you use the term homesoil, it creates more problems, for example take those “british” inmates at Quantanimo, there ‘home’ soil isn’t that of britain is it? In their country’s of origins they mybe heroes?
Good one Hurricane 477, I agree with you. If these “British” organisms were to be tried in Britain, we all know what would happen – the courts would set them free and they would get hundreds of thousands in compensation – because every proper Brit knows that in this country the bloody criminal has more rights than the victim!
Anyway, what were these organisms doing in Afghanistan in the first place? What is their excuse for being there? By being with the Taliban in the first place then they are guilty. I refuse to call these organisms “human” because terrorists are not human. Personally I believe that viruses, bacteria and mould spores are more deserving of rights and protection than they are.

Great shots Kev – keep them coming, it gives me some idea of what I can expect when I go to BHX in March.
Frank has voiced views identical to my own – there is nothing to beat going to London from Belgium on a Fokker 50 of VLM, and landing in London City (a truly superb, wonderful, delightful little airport, my absolute favourite in the UK!)
I think props are fun to fly on, and try the approach into LCY to see how fun they are, the Fokker 50 does this better than any of them, and certainly better than the Avro RJ (I’ve filmed both types on the approach into LCY and the Fokker has the more dramatic nose dive approach).
I find the new Dash 8 thoroughly hideous, but that’s just from the photogenic point of view, I have no doubt that they are very fine aircraft!

Thanks Galdri, that all makes sense. Shame if Iceland Express pull the route though.I have been to Iceland four times now and it is the country I would live in if I had the choice :-))
Icelandair isn’t too bad actually but last time I flew over we came back on one of the 757-300’s and I found it *very* uncomfortable indeed. Have also flown on one of the Fokker 50’s from Akureyri to Reykjavik City which was fun. The most amazing airfield that I saw had to be Isafjordur where the runway is at the end of a fjord and the planes have to fly in close to the sides, would not want to do that in marginal weather.
Might get over for a few days at Christmas.
Ah – I remember Akureyri, and the Isafjordur approach (and climb away) is something else. I visited Iceland six times over a ten year period (1983-1993) and I witnessed the ruination of the place! When we went for the first few times, there were hardly any nightclubs or pubs, and it certainly wasn’t “trendy”. I liked it because it was free of the kind of yobbish trash which made my life hell at school, I felt safe there. Now I read it is the “in” destination for all night clubbing and pubbing (when I went, there were extremely strict laws on the sale of alcohol) There certainly weren’t hotels and restaurants near Geysir like there is now, there was no hotel or ice cream parlour at Thingvellir like there was when I last went. Tourism has destroyed alot of the charm that made Iceland the special place that it was (and I remember when we were there in 1983 there was no television on a Thursday, but that doesn’t happen now!)
The answers are very interesting, especially the support for the Dash 8! On another forum I go on, someone asked a similiar question as a poll and the Dash 8 had no support at all. I ahve heard that Jetstreams are not up to much for flying in and the ATP had a weird reputation, but on the whole I think props have their place.
I like the Dornier 328, I got some really good video of one taking off from London City last year. The older Dash 8 looks better than the newer one. I think the newer one looks too long and narrow and proportionately wrong. I just don’t like the look of it. The ATR props are quite good though, and the Saab 2000 is superb to video because of its superb climb away perormance.

Instead of posting photos of Hiroshima – why don’t you show some photos of the brutality of the Japanese death camps? And before anyone starts whining on about the Japanese “only” capturing soldiers, women and children were also imprisoned in these places and they were also badly treated by the Japanese. History and political correctness makes it convenient to forget all this and only ever to describe the Nazi regime as evil (which it was) but it was not the only evil regime in WW2 and we would do well to remember that.
How many of the Japanese were ever tried and convicted on war crimes charges?
