Guys – here are some FACTS for you all. Since the abolition of capital punishment in the UK, the crime rate has increased annually. Since the abolition of corporal punishment in schools, juvenile crime has increased and now more children than ever before are being hauled before the courts charged with intimidation in gangs, assault etc (and who is more vocal than anyone else in saying that capital and corporal punishment should be abolished? yes, it’s Amnesty bloody International and Liberty). Do you really think that smackheads who attack old folk for their pensions should be free to roam the streets just so their “human” rights are left intact? What about the rights of pensioners to go out without fear of being mugged? Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot that it doesn’t matter about their rights, as long as the criminals are free to go about their vile business. And as for the capital punishment debate, I fully agree that it should only be carried out when there is 110% certainty of guilt, but with DNA fingerprinting it is now less likely that mistakes will be made.

And Frank – I really don’t care what you think of my signature – I have many Belgian “internet friends” from another forum I go on, and they love my signature.

That’s what I call justice. At least you have to agree, it is the only proven method of preventing re-offending! That thing will not kill any more children will it?

And as for “human” rights, I think it’s time that the terrorist-loving “human” rights fraternity gave more consideration to the victims of the criminals. Law abiding people have a right to go out without being mugged, or without fearing they will be attacked. Pensioners have a right to feel safe in their own homes without some drug crazed scum braking in and robbing them to get money for their next fix.

In my home town it was on the news yesterday that a piece of scum had gone on trial for robbing two old ladies, aged 73 and 83 (I bet that made it feel tough!) What makes me mad is that the “human” rights brigade will oppose any proper punishment for this piece of scum, it will get away lightly and do the whole thinga again to someone else. The police are not brutal enough, if they literally kicked the sh*t out of scum like this, instead of mollycodlding them, then they would much likely think twice before offending. The state of the country, as far as crime is concerned, can be blamed entirely on organisations such as Amnesty bloody International and Liberty, with their “be nice to criminals and to hell with the victim” mentality.

You BHX spotters are damned lucky to get carriers such as Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan going to your airport. I’ve never seen either of those carriers anywhere. I’m going to BHX for the first time in March, and I am very disappointed to discover that those two airlines won’t be there on the days I will be (I go for spotting on Tuesday and have my flight out and back on a Wednesday). Then in July you guys will get Mahan Air with the only Tehran flight outside London, that is another carrier I won’t be able to see.

I forgot all about the Comet – fantastic looking aircraft. Then there is the VC10 – that was supremely elegant, but I didn’t mention them because I thought you were meaning airliners currently in service.

I love my footage of Sabena and SN Brussels Airlines with “The Boxer” dubbed over the original sound. Not exactly an advert I know, but now whenever I hear “The Boxer” played I think of Sabena and SNBA. What better association with a song is there than that?:D

My favourites now that Concorde is no longer flying as the same as my favourites when it was!

The Boeing 747-400 is a fantastic, phenomenal aircraft, love the take off noise of those four engines!

The Airbus A330 is great to film on video when it is taxying towards you and the engines just fill up the width of the screen! I like the A340 but I’ve never managed to film it from that angle.

The Lockheed TriStar – an all round beauty! The most handsome and elegant of the wide bodies I think, and it has such a beautifully shaped nose.

The Fokker 50 – great fun to fly on, especially that final nose dive approach into London City.

The Boeing 727 – rare these days, but still a looker!

The Airbus A320 – a wonderful aircraft to fly on.

Great photos! That is still my absolute favourite airport in Europe, and I cannot wait to land there again on 31st March!

I got some really good video footage of aircraft landing on that runway one Sunday in September 2003.

Mongu – the Dash 8-400 does operate into LCY, I’ve seen several there, both Flybe and Augsburg, who work for Lufthansa.

I have flown with Iberia – between Tenerife and El Aiiun in what was then Spanish Sahara (now Western Sahara, a disputed territory). I was four years old at the time and we flew via Las Palmas on a DC-9.

It’s ok… average. This is a new addition to the fleet! Does anybody know where it comes from?

The aircraft has belonged to Aer Lingus (its last owner) and Denim Air.
