The best Italian restaurant outside Italy, I guarantee you 🙂

Here in Scarborough we have one of the top Italian restaurants in the world, and it’s official!!

The Lanterna, on Queen Street, is officially in the top 150 Italian restaurants in the world outside Italy. They do wonderful veal, chicken, fish…

Also – Falstaff near the Bourse in Brussels, superb lamb racks, home made Belgian chocolate mousse, veal kidneys in genever, and a good range of the world’s best beers, and I shall be going there next Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then there’s Les Relais in Spa (Belgium), wonderful grilled trout stuffed with rosemary, and proper Belgian chips not those bloody awful frozen things.

Saturday – went shopping in Scarborough and bought a new CD, as well as going on my computer. Had some De Koninck beer at night (De Koninck is a Belgian beer brewed in Antwerp).
Sunday – went shopping in Scarborough for some holiday gear.
Monday – went shopping in Scarborough for more holiday gear, reserved my train seats to London, played on my Playstation 2, went on my computer.

Also on all those days I did the boring mundane usual stuff like take my dog out. It was nice to have a Saturday off, so I made the most of it!!

Although it’s not an airport, Victoria rail station in London has a good range of eating places.

When I was in London for a few days back in May I ate there. At Spud-U-Like it cost me two pounds 93 for a jacket potato and a drink (not bad considering it was a station outlet in London).

Sorry for writing the amount like that, but I’m not on my home computer, and this one I’m on is a pile of s**t, none of the keys have the proper symbols and it doesn’t have a pound sign!!

My big career thing was veterinary medicine, but yes, I would also have fancied the idea of being an airline pilot (except some very stupid people have a problem about female pilots).

You obviously took no notice of what I said in my post!!
It is very easy to observe aircraft from inside the teminal at Dublin.

The only RJ I’ve flown on is the BAe 146/Avro RJ.
The first one, a Sabena one, was boarded up the aircraft steps (in Manchester).
The second one, an Aer Lingus one, was boarded by airbridge in MAN and the third one (also Aer Lingus) was boarded by aircraft steps in DUB.

Aer Lingus definitely has female Captains, I was flown by one in June.
SN Brussels has female pilots, but I don’t know about Captains. British Airways has some female pilots, as do Lufthansa and Air France, and SAS certainly have female Captains. Icelandair do as well.

Dublin is good for photography from inside the main terminal, I discovered that when I was there in June, and the short distance from the terminal to the runway makes it easy to shoot video footage of aircraft as they take off and depart, without having to go somewhere on the perimeter.

Aer Lingus BAe 146 EI-CTM from MAN-DUB (flown by a female Captain)
    and
    Aer Lingus BAe 146 EI-CLG from DUB-MAN

My next flights (the best ones of the year) will be on 1st September from London City to Antwerp with VLM on a Fokker 50, and on 10th September from Antwerp to London City with VLM on a Fokker 50.
