Wel, in that case one more for the weekend. I found it very helpfull that all the helicopters information is painted on its nose, that’s why I zoomed in:cool:

Those “drying marks” are dirty spots on the CMOS sensor. The smaller F you use, the more you are going to see them. Best advise, don’t go “smaller” than F.8 , and learn to clean yous sensor which is a nerve taking, and time consuming thing. Sensor dust is one of the main disadvantages of DSLR’s. My 10D had “dust” within a few weeks (and it broke down after 300 shots and is now back with Canon). Good news is that the CMOS sensor, after severall cleaning sessions, is getting lesser and lesser “static” , so in a few months time your dust problem won’t be that big anymore. “Normal” photographers aren’t suffering from this problem that much, as it is especially in the blue’s and broken white/greys that you see these spots (but as aircraft “shooters” we are almost all the time working with a full blue or brokenwhite/grey sky.
As for RAW, I have always using RAW so far, and I will continue to do so. I just want to have the highest quality to work from. JPG fine is for most just as good, but I don’t take the risk. Only disadvantage is the time the camera needs to write the shots down, but with a buffer of 9 shots this is “workable).

I was told that some “filled” containers are stored at the other side of the Channel. That’s why I started this thread! BW Roger
Youre right, Doug Arnolds son Peter is (involved in) Flying A Services. I understand that quite an amount of Doug Arnolds aircraft are “missing” (disapeared from view). Anyone a guess how much airframes are “missing”. BW Roger
Damien, did you manage to shoot a French Hawkeye? Chasing tose for years now and just as I decede to never go to Faifrord again, I am told there was one:mad:

@Kenneth
Well, I contacted Canon CPS this afternoon and I must bring the camera to them as it must be repaired by Canon themselves. Hope I have it back before 9/8. BW Roger
Thanks, going to contact them tomorrow. BW Roger
I still have my first Practica, a Super TLS of 1976 !. Well, the 10D is down, but the others were still working:D 😀
Photo shot yesterday while “working” in Chambley France. BW Roger
@ Snapper
Isn’t it better to work with a 30 year old Practica than with Lglass on a not working Canon?
I bought them one by one, and the most expensive ones second hand. The moment a new lens is introduced, the “old” ones are realy bargained. Optained my 300/2.8 for less than 1200 (which I realise is still very expensive, but I am partly earning my money with taking photographs for a variety of mags in Holland and Europe, so it is justified a bit) when the IS model came (and then I broke my elbow and since I can hardly hold it anymore :mad:).
About my camera, Thursday evening I bought my BG-ED3 grip, and the problems started Friday. Might there be a connection between the grip and the problems( without the pack, with the battery in the “normal” position, the problem remains)? I checked all my lenses, and it is the same, so it is realy camera related. Maybe the trouble is with the small “golden” connection pins in the camera, may be dirty or corroded, but how do I “clean” those without damaging?
BW Roger (who by now start thinking of solving the problem with a big hammer)
@Snapper
No, I have no Sigma lenses. I only have Lglass, all 2,8 , so that can’t be the problem. The camera is giving both error 99 aswell as error 01. I go to CPS on monday. It works fine when the AF switch is off (in MF) , but as soon as the AF switch is on, it is gone, frozen in oneshot mode and not working at all.
@Bob
I am not surprised if there is something wrong. Mine is a serial starting with 5, and I understand the problems are with the lower numbers, (except mine ofcourse). In spite of this, I can still recommend the camera, it is a great machine.
Just back from a 31 hour trip to France. I am signing off as I must go to bed now as I am deadly tired.

I know, but I can not enter Flugzeugforum anymore. They don’t accept my codeword anymore and when they gave me a new one, it is refused again. We now also have a forum in Holland now. It is on the Aviodrome site. So far I am the only one on it I think. Give it a search under “Aviodrome” if you are interested. The site is in English en German also, and the forum is half Dutch, half English, but who cares, we from Holland speak all the languages more or less.

To keep it short:
SNBA is said to have lost 30 milion Euro’s in the first 3 months of 2003.
Mr Sciot say that it isn’t that much, the losses are lower.
They are going to cut costs for 20 milion Euro , and are still hoping for a 5 milion profit this year.
The company still has 100 milion Euro cash/capital, compared to 110 milion end of 2003. This all according to Mr Sciot.
