RE: Weird development of this thread…
If technicaly, it is not an attack on Holland, but “on the world”, this isn’t of any difference to me. The building is situated in the suburbs of The Hague, surrounded by houses (they are going to use an old military building complex). It is only a short drive from my home, so I remain very “involved”. I don’t think there ever will be an attack, as intervention is only possible with a lot of damage done to Dutch civil proporty and lives, so any attack should backfire on the USA. What disturbs me most is the “idea” of this all, the total political arrogance and stupidity.

Aren’t clowns to make you laugh? This one scares me, so he can’t be a clown.

RE: American Invation and Agression
Garry,
The Dutch judges aren’t involved in this. It is an United Nations court, with international judges. The court will only be situated in Holland, but that is it.
RE: American Invation and Agression
History has learned that laws justifying injustice, will one day be used. Maybe today it sound unbelievable that the USA will be involved into an act of war against the Netherlands, but times can chanche. another thing learned by the history books is that wars are seldom started by the military, but almost always by the politicians. With this law, maybe one day, who nows? I have always seen the Americans as our allies, however, since the fall of the other superpower, they have chanched ( or maybe I did). This new law is a serious thread.
RE: American Invation and Agression
the US is talking about “terrorist states’ all the time, but they are realy given a good example by doing this. It’s a shame we (the Dutch) signed for the JSF program last week. They want to sell us fighter aircraft but a day later they put a knife in our back. This will make Americans very popular
RE: American Invation and Agression
This is only the beginning! Much worse is to come.
RE: Did Bush upset anyone else?
Hi Kev,
Here, in Holland, 2 photo’s of the event were published. In both, he was walking towards the viewers, so he could only see the back of the crosses while he walked over the graveyard. I understood this was done to give the best media coverage, so both the face of “the preseident” aswell of the names on the crosses were visible. Looks like it was all public relations, as was that stupid scene in New York with the fireman. Days after the inpact, but the search for survivors was completely stopped for hours because “the president” was there.
RE: Comet
Thank you, I am going to Antwerp this sunday
RE: Did Bush upset anyone else?
Well, thanks to his “daddy” he was safe during the Vietnam War, patrolling the Texas/Mexican border, and now this “very brave man” is ordering others to fight ( and die). He showed how brave he was on September 11, when he flew as far away from the impact places as he could in his Airforce one. I wonder if he know that the events in France took place in the night of june 5 and 6 in 1944. I doubt it. Strange man, that president. I hope he won’t become too dangerous, or is he already!
RE: Panic on a Spanish High Speed train
For what its worth, there are military jets in civil hands in Spain.
At least one Saeta and a Super Saeta are operational, and flown in full Spanish Airforce livery. But, as I knopw who operates those two aircraft, I am sure they didn’t do it. Most probably it was the Spanish Airforce ( I have flown several missions with them in a CASA 235 and we flew very low level (200 feet) during some floghts but these aircraft are no jets. Maybe it was just fantasy
RE: Just to confirm…..
That should be nice Kabir. While there, can you check the fate of the Indian Super Connies? Is it true that most were scrapped ( some 5 ) and that only 3 survive? (BG-579 at Pone, IN-315 at Goa, BG-583 in IAF museum) (In-318, IN-319, IN-317, BG-577,BG-578: missing, scrapped around 1998?)
Best wishes, Roger
RE: Breaking News — We’ll miss ya, Kenny
Well, that must be a shock. I’ll guess he will be back as a ghost, and continue to perform?
RE: Things to do at Newark International
Just back from the USA. Flew with Continental. Service and accomodation was good. I flew two times in a 767. However, Newark was a disaster Immigration took 3 hours and the following security check another hour. Everything in the photobag had to be opened and inspected (nice to see every of the 90 filmrolls to be opened) and even the camera’s had to put on (and test photo’s had to be made). After that, we were “free” to enter the terminal for the connecting flight. However, the field is crowded with “Ground Security Inspectors” which were 17 year old children giving the power to stop everybody and inspect them. It is very disturbing when you have to empty your bag, and put your shoes out, every 25 meters. This was what they did. As one team was ready with the tourists, the others were waiting within sight and did it over again, laughing to the first team and already signing to the next bunch of loosers with a badge which were already within sight to stop and “strip” the people again. Terrible, terrible terrible, it took us 9 hours to get our connecting flight to Orlando. Taking an interest in aircraft wasn’t apreaciated either, as we were not allowed to take photographs. However, videofilming was allowed. Newark (maybe just at the moment) is a very passenger unfriendly airport, although I realise that being hijacked is a million times worse. No problems later on Orlando, Houston and phoenix, were security was intense, but correct.
RE: What makes you proud of your country?
Sorry, I am not joking, I realy mean what I wrote. En laat die Nederlanders toch lachen, het zijn niet de slimsten die het van die moppen moeten hebben.
Groeten, Roger
