    XH668,
Re “Great stuff! Cant wait to see it and martin”.
Be warned the Meteor is both better looking and in better condition than Martin, but I didn’t say that!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also be carfull what you say to Martin, his new lady wife is a nurse, and tells me she can be very handy with a needle if she so feels the urge. It’s to late for me though, I am already onher “hit list”!!!!!!!!!!

    hahah 😀

I dont want to hijack a thread thats not about this Meteor so if anyone wants to see more pics from todays move let me know and I will start a seperate thread up.

    pleasee 🙂

OK, time to tell, it’s Gloster Meteor T7, WL405. My mate Martin’s new toy. All being well, she will be installed at her new home in the early afternoon on Wednesday.

Not only a new airframe at the Cold War Jets Collection, but also a new owner to the site, we look forward to sharing many a cup of tea and a good few biscuits with you in the future Martin, and maybe even doing a bit of work on the aircraft!!

Welcome aboard and according to sagindragin’s post, you are now officialy a “Missfit”!! now what will nursey say!!!!!!!!!!

    Great stuff!
Cant wait to see it and martin

    Good luck 🙂

    Just another little update

As with last year, admission to the Open Day is free, although we would encourage anybody that appreciates the day’s activities to make a voluntary donation to help cover the operating costs of running this event.

Directions to the event can be found here:
    http://www.vampirepreservation.org.uk/directions.htm

We look forward to seeing you on 14th!

Dont want to put a dampner on things as i know what its like doing stuff like a website

    Good luck mate 🙂

I caught the end of it and the Spitfire did look like Peter Ts one based at North Weald.

It did look like it in the brief clip…i think the light played apart but my spit knowlege wouldnt be able to tell you what one it was

Thanks Andy for this well illustrated post, its good to see the early days of some of the types which now form the collection,

I am especially pleased to see the Canberra pics and our own WT333 which is the only Canberra left on site,

We are looking forward to some open days this year and more fast taxi action to celebrate English Electric Canberras 60th anniversary.

Is there any posibility that if money was there (and the engines at the moment) that wt333 could fly?

I know the ICC has a forum so why cant that carry on?
Its better than nothing and cockpit owners can communicate with each other

Maybe more topics can be added so better discussion can take place

    Just a thought
