‘Rubbish’ it maybe, but old chap that is what you get with volunteer based organisations in any hobbyist field…..out of a hundred people that are on the books less than 6% do anything tangible. What you need is to look at the cross section of our forum…there are doers, there are authors, restorers, interested enthusiasts, toggies, all sorts….but all of them have their own interests and demands on their time. I would suggest that waiting only 5 days and then declaring the response ‘rubbish’ is a trifle bit unkind and unwarranted! Not everyone shares your vision and those that do should be nurtured….just some friendly advice! 🙂

True but in a week i got 1 response and thanks to that person, was hoping for abit better

Hi,
As you know i amtrying to gather up as much history or weston zoyland as possible, but i have info everywhere and lots of leads etc.

I have a busy month ahead with other things so i was wondering if anyone would like to help me/us and help with some reaseach and putting info into context and into date order.

This could suit a writer and with the info could write a book on wz

Well abit of a rubbish response to say the least, i am desperatly loking for help here, i have managed to reaserch the mustangs that were based there but my list of squadron is getting bigger

can anyone offer any help?

Hey, I couldnt help it matey 😮

my mrs works nights so i picked her up this morning and I assumed she would be going to bed for the day, I assumed wrong, it really kicked off, infact i felt bloody awful,:(
she had “Other” plans for me, like most woman do, and pretty much gave me a ultimatum, weve been having a rough time for quite a while, and “Whitwick” was the detonator for her , hence to say ive had a rotten day, I have 2 children so i am not going to break up for the sake of my canberra,
she is sick to the teeth of me and my plane stuff , its everywhere, cant move for it she says, I expect if it was any other hobby it would be the same, I am sorry i could Not go, and as for engine panel and coloumn etc,
thats parts i need,
sorry to have let you down, 😮
and Now i am REALLY gutted i couldnt go, tell you what i will go in there now and have another ding dong with her, and tell her what ive missed today,
Bloody woman, they just dont understand,
thanks , perhaps , you might (not) throw them in the bin ?? pretty please with a cherry on top ??

ive just been down to my local garage to get petrol and found queues of people all panic buying, Gordon Brown must be rubbing his hands with glee as all the extra revenue from this action flows into his coffers,one wonders if this whole situation has been contrived as a method of clawing back the financial imput The Bank of England has just implemented ,sounds a little “out there ” perhaps but nevertheless worth consideration or not?

Saw the same out our local sainsburys pertol station, they said if we dont panic buy well have enough. Yet what do people do….so we wont have enough at this rate.

Hi,
Has anyone built one of these and found that the wings don’t fit the fuselage at all?
I’ll try to post some photo’s to show what i mean a bit more clearly.

The mark I or IXc/XVIe wings dont go well together as i have built both in the past few months there is a small gap.

can anyone reccomend a spit that wil go together well?

then there’s the small issue of the biggest aviation museam in europe to look at. its not just about whats flying with duxford!!!

once youve done the likes of airspace/aam/hangar 4 then you rarely visit them again.

I all see what you mean but when taking the family they get bored, they dont want to have to go to places far away, its on the door step so why have to go far.

As for a/c id like to see, i would like theemed airshows i.e an early jets aishow yes we can have mustangs, spits etc but a gatherting of sea hawks, hunters, canberras etc

(this is my opinion by-the-way)

Too the aishow enthusiast once youve seen it once or twice i personally get bored it might appeal to the general public, its not duxford airshows its more TFC airshow. The tfc only seem to attend duxford displays.

Yes we are lucky but i like to see new and different things, thats the only way we can keep this industry up and runing

You’re a braver man than me XH 668, but I understand what you say. Just to put it in to perspective though, I said something similar to an Ozzie mate of mine about one of the shows last year and his response was along the lines of “You don’t know how lucky you are in the UK. We’d give our back teeth for a line up like that”. I hope it’s not just the loop, roll and fast run and break routine which must be fun for the pilots but a bit tedious for the public. How about some pyrotechnics and live cannon firing like they did at Wanaka?

How about something different rather than the b-17, wildcat, various spits, coursair etc

Its the same every year besides the odd different thing

Go toshuttleworth on the 4th of may (i believe) ive said the participants list and it looks good (seeing as i dont go to shuttleworth often)
