Well i have been watching thie many zoyland post with interest as it is not that far a drive from where i live, Not sure what the other people think but it seems to me that this project has no sence of direction, one minute u are seeking help with a cleaning up operation, then a hanger, and now i read that you have bought in aircraft for display yet still no sign of the hanger or does that need planning permisson?
Dont get me wrong i hope it comes off for you as i would like to put some stuff on display but surely you must start off with the basics first. Sadly as with most musiems they are hardly stay afloat financually unless they have a good sponser to help on public liability insurances ect, and run of the mill costs.
I wish you boys the best of luck but personally i think a lucky lottery ticket is need to get this ambishon of the ground.
It has no sense of direction at the moment partly because we are keeping a few things secret and parltly because we are onbly starting out. Me and merkle have had cxountless conversations about the direction to go in. And we have decided a small group of people needs to be set up first, then we will aquire a small shed/nissan hut type building. With a few displays and a few cockpits (this is anlong with the active airfiled) once mopney is less of an issue we can accuire a hangar.
The cockpits are a bitof a personal project as well as something we can take to local shows to advertise the museum.
This is a slow process and we need everyones help
the job this summer is to clear the site, erect hangars and get the active side up and running then we can think about a museum.
If it takes us 16 years to get to the RAF millom stage we will be very happy
The major concerns are money and time, it will takes years to do and lots and lots of money
we are considering talk with the HLF and trying to become a registered charity.
