    Worthy of being a sticky????
    What happened regarding the lake windermere(?) sunderland/s rumour from a few years ago(late 1980`s?),was there any truth in it?
    I only ask as i never saw any follow up in flypast.

    Thanks for all the info & pics keep it coming!
    I`m trying to put together a little portfolio of the aircraft for the in-laws.
    It did not mean anything to them at the time when they had them stored 20ft away from there house,but now they have developed an interest.
    Funny thing is the farther in-law was asked what he would like in return for the favour of storing the aircraft.
    He picked a sword!!
    I think i might of had a aircraft!!!
    If only i had married into the family earlier!!! 😀

    Ah yes:92fis it`s EGSC,my typing skills and grammer leave little to be desired!! 😀

    The specialist vehicle section moved to a site on the developed RAF witchford site near ely.
    So still a avation link there.

    Only just seen this thread!
    I live in the nice village of teversham with a great view over the airfield.
    As far as “us locals” have been informed,marshalls is in fact very reluctant to move.
    It`s in fact local goverment that “wish” marshalls to move,but with oakington due soon to go under a new town and waterbeach being sited again for a new town it looks like the presure to move may be off for a little while longer.
    Local villagers used to complain about aircraft noise,but now a vast campaign is under way to see that the airport stays.
    In fact the main noise group against the airport as turned full circle and now supports the airport to stay!!
    I sure im not the only resident that prefers the sight and sound of tiger moths than the hustle and bustle of 1000`s of new homes!

    I would go for a fairey gannet,but if moneys gonna be no problem,i`d have to search the depths for a short sterling or two!!

    I`ve got the book and the 2xvhs box set.
    I have just tracked some pictures at southend down at the airliners.net site.
    They had a damm-good collection of aircraft!!
