If I were actually going to benefit from its move, then I may have contributed.
Surely as an aviation fan you are. If it were left at LHR, it would simple decay. At least by moving it to MAN its preservation is guaranteed.
Who’s for toasted marshmallows?
I too have never liked that Peter Max scheme.
Me neither. Great to see the Karthago 320 🙂 Thanks
Santander Airport, never heard of it! Is it near Malaga?
Cantabria, north coast of Spain, west of Bilbao. A new FR destination from STN 😉
LOL 😀 very funny
Very stimulating reading and some excellent pictures! Thanks.
I don’t recall United ever operating the tristar
They had a small number (pic here)
Excellent 🙂 I love it
Yeah, BA and BMI do for their call signs, but what about from a passenger’s perspective?
Lovely shot – thanks for posting 🙂
Hope everything is ok this weekend
seems first choice are also changing the flight codes from the old D, C system to a new 4 numbered system.
Aside from BY, FCA and TCX, does anyone know of other airlines using alpha characters in their flight numbers? I do remember a few years ago that only BY used to do so.
A stretched 737 maybe, to fill the void between the 737-900 and the 7E7?

my point exactly, I think the most growth will be in the north. I think that MAN will attract the most people, so why little loco’s there. At LGW you have FR, U2, WW, soon Helvetic, ZB, Germanwings for example and LTN has FR, U2, Wizz, ZB, Helios?
thomsonfly could fill a gap in the market at Doncaster (or whatever its going to be called) if it flies the right routes. As demonstrated in the south people are less willing to travel to the airports where there is an even spread (LGW, STN , LTN) of airlines.
Thomsonfly seems like it will offer similar services from DSA as those from CVT in the next couple of years. Surely there is also potential for a loco at HUY?
Superb photos – the backdrops you get at both GLA and EDI really make the photos.
