Even on short domstic flights, Dan Air gave you complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits!

I’d have expected more on a three hour flight though

I herd they wanted to fly to MAN, GLA and DUB from 2005

    I heard it was Cologne-Bonn  🙂

The A310 is pretty old technology these days. It was based on the A300B4, which even pre-dated the A300-600R. For this reason, I understand that it is no longer seen as an economical aircraft for most airlines vis-a-vis the likes of the 767-200.

Personally speaking though, I would love fly on an A310.

Excellent modification! Those windows must take a while to paint. For anyone who’s interested and doesn’t yet know, there’s a really good article in AW this month on Air India.

Anyone know whether the daily rotations to PRG from LGW are operated by 319s yet?

MMM is Luton next with its Fat Cat Charges as most people seem to be aware of the move towards Gatwick which basing all new aircraft (A319s) there as a primary base in the UK for them…

They have recently announced new routes from LTN though…

Its very pleasing on the eye. In a high density charter layout it can accommodate 280 passengers, very useful at this time of year.

For these reasons, the 753 reminds me a lot of a modern day DC8-60 series.

Im not rich, unfortunately. However, I do object to airlines charging you for anything and everything. I remember charter flights back in the 80s when you got boiled seets on take off and landing, complimentary bucks fizz, hot meals on all departures and hot towel service. Now look at them they give you nothing and still the cramped seating, they have gone backwards.

That’s not how I recall it. I took a Dan-Air charter flight (MAN-LEI-MAN) in May 1986 and all we got was a biscuit and cup of coffee or tea. Cheapskates!

LOL – you get what you pay for these days. As I said on an earlier thread, who’s going to starve on a three hour flight to GIB?!

Excluding the likes of Zoom (who feed and water their passengers) most loco and short-haul flights are, at the very maximum, four hours long. I cannot believe that anyone is likely to starve in that time simply because the airline isn’t able to provide sustinence. Most people complained about the quality of airline food when it was served, and now people complain about the lack of food. It’s a catch 22 situation.
