It is a very quiet revolution at the moment. Hope it doesn’t kick off. – Nermal

He means it could not be passed down a family line since there is no means to procreate between two of the same sex; as in no offspring. – Nermal

They are the people we wanted to kill/remove from power int he first place.

Hang on – Iraq was invaded because Saddam wouldn’t give up WMDs that he didn’t have! If he had given Bush an assurance that he would get rid of them then he would still be in power. But then his word was not believed so Bush would have invaded anyway. – Nermal

One time, an Iraqi stepped in front of their APC, holding an AK-47, yelling at them. They yelled in arabic for him to move, put down the gun, and get away. He didn’t. they killed him. Was he going to shoot them? or was he just so upset at something, he was ignoring them? We may never know. Aren’t you glad YOU didn’t have to make that choice?

Oh yes – something that the soldiers didn’t know about, didn’t care about really: so they killed him.
What could be have been telling them?
The location of hostages? The location of an arms dump? That god is great? That they were walking into an ambush? Wishing them a merry Christmas? That they should die a horrible death? Maybe it was his birthday? Or maybe he was telling them to get out of his country…
You are wrong – we will never know, because that man died and his killers thought so little of him that they return home to gloat to their mates about that silly man with a gun who didn’t take any notice of what we yelled at him so we shot him…the American answer to everything. – Nermal

The Marine that ended up killing him was acting out of self defense. Personally, I think what he had witnessed had given him very good reason to shoot someone who he thought was faking death.

So if I see someone laying injured in the road, having just been hit by a car, I have a perfectly good excuse to run that person over because I think they might be faking it?

Well the other terrorist in the room seemed to catch on to the idea that showing his hands and being very visibly non-threatening was a good way of avoiding being shot!. Paid off for him didnt it?.

Ever thought that the other guy might have been unconscious? Sometimes the seriously wounded don’t sit around, waiting to get shot, with their eyes open… – Nermal

Chances are it was machine printed – the machines are rarely calibrated to give a good black-white range, more towards just shades of grey – Nermal

    From Msnbc
    “The Marine could be heard insisting: “He’s f—ing faking he’s dead — he’s faking he’s f—ing dead.”

Possum enough for me. Especially if I was walking into an unknown room.

That could be transferred across to going into a bank in America, pointing to a customer at the counter and shouting “he’s got a gun!”
Or, alternatively, walking around London with a newly restored table leg in a plastic bag and a Scottish accent.
So why didn’t they shoot the living guy, who seemed fully able to operate a gun or granade and send a few of the invaders back home in a body bag? If the marine concerned was suffering from post traumatic stress disorder then I’d expect that would get him off the hook, but I imagine he will get away with a pat on the back and a warning to watch out for cameras. The troops will get told not to let this sort of thing happen before the press.
Truth might be the first casualty in war, but as long as soldiers can happily claim that someone was ‘playing possum’ then who needs the truth? Leave it to the military PR guys to tell it like it was – that marine would get a medal! – Nermal

I cannot understund the point.. can you elaborate better? If you aren’t interested why post in this topic? I DON’t wish a new war to anyone, this forum should be interested in a such item. I talk about tecnology and tecnic, noyhing else. The fact about the presence in this part of the forum is due by moderator not me, i have posted in the modern aviation

Maybe it is because this post is clearly a modern military post and this isn’t modern military, but it could just be that he is a moron and you are anally retentive on the useless facts…?;) – Nermal

Might have been real once – but the last survivor is now in America: do a search, it was mentioned within the last month I think. – Nermal
