This is the regulation that is causing the trouble. One interesting point about it is that there’s an exemption in it – “Mandatory insurance should not be required for State aircraft and certain other types of aircraft”. Unless the “certain other types of aircraft” are specifically defined, perhaps it would be possible for the government to specifically exempt certain aircraft – that’s assuming enough attention is drawn to the issue!

It is this exemption that is being worked out. All is not as bleak as is being made out.

aj There is a very big difference between Insurance Classification and CAA Certification.
A vote for UKIP will help to guarantee our further integration into Europe, it will take away the Tory Vote and let in Labour or the Liberals. Both of whom would sell our soul in an instant. Not that it would be a bad thing overall.
