As an aside Kev. The Vulcan raids on the Falklands had two aims and were never about just putting the airfield out of action. In no particular order

Put some bombs on the airfields and hopefully do some damage.

Prove that we can take an aircraft loaded with bombs from Ascention Island to the Combat area, there is little or no difference in Flying this way to the Falklands and flying to the mainland. This meanst that Galtieri had to think twice before sleeping soundly in his bed at night and that some sort of CAP was required over the mainland thus taking resources away from the war. If one fell swoop the Vulcan became an Air Superiority Bomber!

I have no problem with them flying it or getting lottery money, I do have a problem with their PR and their website.

This arguement is otherwise becoming circular.

I was initially sceptical about the whole thing but I now know a couple of the people who are involved in the management of the project. I am now happy that she’ll fly and will be flown well. This is a very serious proposition.

I still think that VTS have run the campaign appalingly (weve taken her to bits if you dont give us funding we’ll scrap her. I dont like Blackmail) and I really hope that it doesnt end up as a smoking hole in the gfround. The British Warbird movement would never be allowed to recover.

The non flight excuses have already started.
