You’ll have to bring the weather with you old bean. Its bloody freezing here at the moment. See you later.
Fred
Sorry its late, hope you had a wonderful day.
All I can say is please try to give us Dumb Yanks some credit when we hear of something like the Lanc come over we are going to make inquiriers.
There are many “Dumb Yanks” I give a LOT of credit to, You are not one of them.

Its a shame I will not be partaking of any Green Goo, however can I post my personal thanks to you and the BBMF for the way in which you have handled this matter. I for one was fully aware of the likelyhood of the trip happening (via your posts on the forum and no-where else) and of the BBMF’s position. I for one dont feel in any way mis-led.
For the reasons mentioned above by Guzzineil I cant make it. Good luck.
It finally official something that myself and alot of other have been saying
Without checking Rob, what I believe you were saying was that CWH would never let their aircraft cross the atlantic. What was in fact the case is that it would have happened if the necessary money had been raised. Two different things.
And I quote from a previous thread.
Lets just kill this now before it runs away again, when I talk to the Dept. Director of the CWH she told me flat out that the Lanc. wil not be going to England period.
That was clearly not the case. Do you agree?
Looks like an RC model to me. What was the set up to enable the photos to be taken?
Isnt it amazing how PSP can improve the weather 🙂
May I ask who was flying the Hurricane?
Interesting that the Mig appears to be taking off with a considerable tailwind.
As ever the outcome is predictable, why do they bother!!
Eric
If you use the image attchment function then you get thumbnails. If you link to a photo stored on your webspace you get the full size.
Cracking shots thanks.
I would buy a one of a kind Jet Warbird (preferably the biggest available) and paint it in the colours of a famous soft drink brand…….oh its been done 🙁
How about a Spifire on Pink and Yellow Spots
Or a rainbow coloured Lancaster.
Nice pic on what looked like a dull day MrP
Thanks for the photos
Now I know that the new building for the museum is a wonderful thing and I really do support it. However am I alone in thinking that it is yet another impractical out of place building on an airfield. It appears to saying “look at our building it, looks weirder than yours” rather than “here are some really important aircraft displayed in a sympathetic setting”. What with the AAM and Airspace at Duxford, Millstones(sic) of Flight at Hendon and now this, Aviation Museums appear to be the victim of an Architects willy waving competition.
Or Perhaps an innovative building like this is the best way to preserve aircraft. But just how practical is it if you need to move exhibits about?
You’re not Ace Lazarote are you?? 😀
Seriously, good luck with the new forum Dave.
You may want to send details of it to the chap who runs This site.
RAF Fairford in the UK is also a Shuttle emergency landing site. But can only be used for the first 30 seconds or so after launch.
Havent you got paperwork to be filling in?
