Hi Daz, there was a celebration of Normans life at Richard Bransons place in Oxfordshire and we were all ushered outside to the sight of a Virgin Atalntic 747 and 5 Mustangs I think it was with the missing man formation they circled a few times the sight and sound was something else it was as i said before very surreal indeed as know one spoke just looked skyward.
If anyone has a photo of the awsome memorial flypast that Richard Branson arranged for him with the 747 and P51s in formation, I am sure I am not the only one who would love to see this. Please do post it, if you can.
Hi Janie,
I have never seen a picture of that flypast but there may well of been one in the FP mag, a lot of people were taking pictures that day, I did not take a camera and it all seamed a bit surreal that day it was as if Norman was in the sky as it came over you just had the feeling he was there with them mind you Norman never missed the opportunity to get airborne so why miss his own tribute.
I think Norman had flown nearly every mustang in that flight as well as that 747.
Norman was a massive character in everyway and would of been the perfect “Battle of Britain” fighter pilot if he had been around in 1940.
I think a Meteor T.7 – isn’t the framing the nose undercarraige attachment framing?
Roger Smith.
Thanks Roger, i have not senone with the nose off.
Colin
I like it but not at 1.5k, we have a nice area in the museum for this too!
A reluctant sale I feel, not a very enthusiastic advert is it?
Gary, so are you trying to have ago at people? maybe I did not read the other posts or forgot about them.
I would like to offer you a visit to our museum one day and see the dedication which has gone into bringing the memory of these Pilots and crew to the attention of the general public who often leave our museum with a tear in their eye and a realisation of what these people went through to fight for their country and that means whatever side they were on.
I am not in it for medals or for financial reasons, I started looking for these wrecks around 1970 and the museum has put me out of pocket to the sum of thousands (that is not a moan far from it)
Wreckology has had its bad points, the people with the personal gain to be had financial or otherwise but please do not paint all the people out of the same pot.
I must admit that some of the “diggers” and their private collections if you want to call them that have given it a bad name but again it is the “Few” who F it up for the “Many” dedicated aviation enthusiasts.
So please if you have a beef put it in plain English and I for one will be happy to answer and prove its not all cowboys in AA.
Hi Nick, glad to see your still banging the drum
Whats the nose of in the third photo?
Ollie, it looks like a meteor but the framing on the nose im not happy with.
This is Steves Ebay, could be good to drop him a mail.

A really really good offer please as its going towards another project I have,,,, pree war this time 😀
Hi Gary, Tony Dyer’s Hurricane has a lot of AA within the rebuild http://www.airdefencecollection.co.uk/hawker_hurricane_mk_1_p3554.htm
I can see why some people do not like AA as many wrecks have now passed into oblivion and private hands, we have donated bits to flyers and non.
Colin

I have a cockpit for sale to complete the treble if anyone interested?
