LW326 is the serial number of a Halifax BII and between August 1942 and March 1944 number 35 Squadron was part of the Pathfinder Force (PFF) operating Halifax aircraft.

Halifax LW326 was lost on the night of 26th November 1943 over Belgium while flying with 35 Squadron so that seems to fit.

Where did you find the information ‘SEE 35sq LW326’ as I think it means that the route follows was the same as Halifax LW326 but that would seem a strange way to record a route for a Lancaster from a different squadron.

Do you know the date that your uncle’s Lancaster crashed, what squadron he flew with or even his aircraft’s serial number (two letters followed by three numbers such as LW326)?

The Avro Tudor doesn’t seem to have been a very ‘lucky’ aircraft. It’s not really my area of interest but even I can think of two others that were lost without trace over the sea, plus wasn’t Roy Chadwick killed in the crash of one of the prototypes (due to reversed ailerons)? All this and how many built; few I think?
