…I fail to see where the connection with Libya comes in all this. It is fact that the bomb maker was Jordanian with German links – would Libya have been served in anyway by this? I doubt it!
But Libya did accept responsibility for bringing-down Flight 103.
However the reason for this may have been to get sanctions against Libya lifted; getting sanctions lifted was certainly one of the conditions of Libya paying some of the money paid to families of the victims of Lockerbie.
