Sunburn! Nothing less comfortable than ‘business wear’ when you could fry an egg on your shoulder 🙁

Having mentioned this at NEAM today I was informed that the only difference with the paint is that we are using gloss as opposed to matt which is easier to maintain and keep clean

I like Meteors and made a long trip to NEAM today to see this one.

I really hope that this is not the finished product!

It looks pretty awful in the colours that have been used. I have never seen any Meteor operated in this scheme. Only the underside of the aircraft seemed close to the original scheme.

Haven’t the good people at Neam ever heard of masking tape?

I was told by a passing volunteer that they were trying to restore it to the colour scheme used when Ray Hanna flew the aircraft with the Evergreens. Well sorry guys, but this is nothing like it.

However, there’s hope yet. The volunteer also said that they were expecting to put on another coat of paint. Please, please, please, use the right shades – yours look silly.

Therefore you’ll be willing to provide the correct paints, masking tape and rollers to paint the ‘correct’ scheme onto the aircraft surely?

The word on the street is that another class of Academy students will be attending the Whirlwind re-skin next week. Thanks to NEAM for being absolutely invaluable for the last couple of weeks. The student feedback has been 100% positive. 😀

I may be in sometime next week given that I’m on “study leave” despite the fact my exams finished yesterday! :diablo: Roll on at least 2 weeks of freedom!!! :dev2:

Fair point. Yes I should be down on the Saturday. Might have a go at giving her a wash if the weather’s up to it. Then carry on trying to get at the PFCUs to level the flying controls.
    Will you lot be around?

Transport is an issue for me this weekend so i’m not too confident i’ll be in 🙁 if i’m in it’ll be via bike but not too appealing given the bank i’ve got to climb to get back

also, the wing mirror is cracked somehow and its just been dropped off by the garage today, after 4 weeks of waiting and a repair price of £980+
