What is the latest position? Is the airframe to meet the scrap man’s axe, and, if so, when, and are there any plans to save anything?

    Anon.

Thats what has been puzzling me. The aircraft is going to be reduced to spares so I would guess that she will be take to pieces. It makes no sense to me taking a JCB to it in that case.

Anyone in the know have a better idea?

I wouldn’t say there’s any other surviving Vulcans under threat though currently… are there? 319’s getting tlc now, that’s the one I’d have been most worried about up to a couple of years ago (Sorry Spock!). All the others seem to have good homes, and are secure as long as volunteers can keep the tinworm at bay surely?

I’d have to say I agree. Although we can’t blame anyone or anything apart from lack of manpower for ‘319s condition. Yet after ‘319s antics of a few months back now, we stand to benefit with some replacement parts from 603. As a huge Vulcan fan, i’m loathed to see ANY Vulcan meet the scrapmen especially when 603 appears to be in decent shape. 😡

I was cheeky enough to mail it to Norwegian ASA (the airline) saying the only thing that stood between me and a perfect kill was lack of ammo.

Make sure you let us know how they respond
