BRS hasn’t a cat in hell’s chance of getting a regular schedule by the likes of AC when much bigger airports can’t support it.
Just to correct any confusion Barry, what I meant was that I just personally would have preferred to see Air Canada providing the service. (Putting aside the chance of this actually happening)
I imagine the authorities welcome the kudos of any new route particularly transatlantic.
I completely agree with you there 🙂
Adam
I also see in your shot the based SP was in.
Only TOM 737 I saw was the NG version i manage to snap away at. Also i managed to see parked over by the SP was a TOM B752. Is that common for BOH?
Massive shame about the museum, I’m aiming to get back down there again once more before it moves at Christmas. James do you have an idea what sort of commercial traffic I could see on a weekend?
Many Thanks
Adam
I hear the aviation museum is moving to the North side of the airport.
BTW did you see G-THOK nice shots there like the RAF Herk shot.
James, you are right about the museum. I was chatting to one of the ladies there. She said they are probably going to be moving by Christmas. It is a real shame for two reasons, 1 because photography will be a problem because of the sun and 2 the current muesum has an excellent view of the holding point. Brilliant infact
Sorry James but what aircraft is G-THOK?
Adam
Sorry Adam…I somewhat doubt GSM will be around next Summer! 😀
HAHA I like your humour mate 😀
Apparently, GSM’s Chief-Captain was selling ratings for 5K each…that’s where it all started going wrong for them!
If that is true, that is just shocking 😮
I’ve had alittle look at the flight times and they appear to be quite good (for passengers and photographers)! Flights are weekly on a Monday and arrive in at 0845 and depart back out to YHM at 1015!
Adam
Be careful with spot 1 though! Parking can sometimes be difficult at times on a weekend due to random stepladders appearing all over the place.
Approach with care 😉 ………
Si understands my humour 🙂
Adam
Similar happened to me on GO service to Palma from Bristol, we boarded and the crew found a fault with the aircraft (pitot heating element) so they off loaded us and we boarded another aircraft parked alongside that was scheduled to depart to Edinburgh, we were delayed a total of 20 mins which was outstanding considering what the delay could have been.
So just out of interest, what happened to the passengers of the Edinburgh flight, do they then become delayed? Does an airline sacrifice one delay for another?
Adam
I think this is unique to BRS although perhaps other airports have an alternative etc.
Personally Steve if you don’t have much time to spare this weekend, I would just go straight up to BRS! This is just my opinion but as far as traffic is concerned BRS will be overloaded with EZY & FR and you should catch a few charter movements (as you can see on the mayfly)
Adam
When i saw this thread i thought great tranatlantic routes for Bristol this airport is growing good and has some good connections
I couldn’t agree with you more Nick. The news is great, but my heart sank when I heard GSM were coming to Bristol.
Nowhere on the Bristol Airport or the GSM website did it mention about the route flying via DUB & KEF!
Personally if you want to get to Canada from Bristol, I would fly with Continental. It may cost a little more money, but I would rather fly with an established airline that I can trust and rely on.

Steve
Might be usual – Here is the link to a webpage that will show you all the movements at Lulsgate for the weekend.

Enjoy Bristol,

The weather was kind to you and it resulted in some fantastic clear, crisp and well balanced shots. Always nice to see a post from you on the forum.
Keep up the good work mate & catch you up BRS some time soon.
All the best
Adam
Rwy 09R departures I can assume?
Si some fantastic images there, and they all appear to be really crisp and sharp.
If I had to pick a favourite I would have to say it would be the Qantas Jumbo, but I also agree with ‘widmeister’, the angle on the Virgin A340 is fantastic
Thank you for sharing
Adam
Thank you for sharing mate.
It is always a pleasure to see some interesting and different photos of airlines from the other side of the world.
Keep them coming.
Adam 🙂
Why don’t I ever get exciting landings like that?!
You will do mate… It’l be on Tuesday 4th Decemeber at around 1730 as our little easyJet lines up for approach into Funchal 🙂
