Great to see easyJet once again adding new routes from BRS.

Quick question for anyone in the know
As a result of these new routes, have easyJet expanded out of Bristol? Or are they just operating these routes in replace of ones they have dropped this winter?

    Many Thanks

Some are executed far better than others.

My employer (head of a successful computer programming/IT firm) is currently going through a right mess with eBay because he fell for a really well organised and laid out phishing email.

Could you explain alittle more about this, just so any other ebay users on here can be cautious.

    Many Thanks

    Mr Nichols (Ted)

Where do i start! I have many things to comment about this post.

    1. It wasnt 3 beers but a few more than that! Was good that we didnt end up with airport property back at the hotel.

    2. The suspension survived, although only just with the weight of your damn camera bag!!

    3. That Air Berlin looks very much like a A319 (Can anyone please prove me wrong)

    4. The Chav City Direct is my favourite picture

    5. Thank you for a brilliant weekend and i am looking forward to doing it again.

    Finally, a professional at work

    Thanks a lot, chaps. 🙂

Adam, did you manage to get any shots of the Belavia Tu154 this morning or had you set off for home by then?

    Lance,

We spent the morning on the southside and thought we would be in with some luck catching it.
Then typically the airport changed runways to the 05’s, some 20 minutes before it departed out. Needless to say both myself and Paul were NOT amused!

Was great to meet up again and have a catch up.

Fantastic shots as always, and my favaourite is the Qatar A330.

It was nice to see Paul, Sam and Adam and I hope heads weren’t too sore this morning….. :diablo:

Thankfully as the weather was c**p Sunday morning it meant a few more hours in bed 😀

TAM have annouced that the right engine’s thrust reverser was “deactivated” at the time of the accident.

The thrust reverses account for about 30% of an aircrafts braking capability. The other 70% is in the wheel brakes.

I’m not saying this has anything to do with it – Not at All.

Just wanted to point it out

    Great News for U2!

I’m just about to booked myself on a rtn flight from BRS – FNC

One quick question though for anyone that knows the answer – When U2 start a new route to a destination (we’ll use FNC for this example) do they have to send out any pilots or aircraft to see the airport and or practice approaches. With every airport being different with different approaches, noise abatements procedures etc would a pilot need to become familiar with it?

Or is it just a case that the pilot files down there on the first revenue flight and just uses the chart?

    Gary

Here is the alternations as promised:

    Night Alternation Period (0000 – 0600) Arrivals – 27R

    (0600-1500) Arrivals – 27L

    (1500 – Last Departure) 27R

If because of the wind the 09’s are in operation, then landings will take place on 09L regardless.

    (If using 27’s)
Also note that before 0700 some aircraft will land on either 27L & 27R (Mixed mode operations). This is because with the few departures before 0700, any traffic for T1 & T2 can land 27R to save taxi distance (Or land 27L if using T4)

Are you staying till Monday? If so (change over happens Sunday midnight)then it is the other way around with 27R being used for Arrivals from 0600 – 1500 and 27L after 1500

Have a fantastic trip Gary and i look forward to seeing your pictures

    All the best

Easyjet operates there to MAD and I wonder why they make so much fuss about operating in wet Bristol runway.

I think it is clear to say that easyJet made a ‘fuss’ because they didn’t want to be aquaplaning around the airport and risk the lives of hundreds.

easyJet don’t make a fuss about operating into Bristol in the wet! They DID however make a fuss about operating when there were NO groves cut into the runway surface – The runway at Congonhas also has NO groves cut into the runway surface – I can certainly see the similarity.

You can’t take any chances with safety, and easyJet put their aircraft, crew & passengers safety & well being before anything else. It is because of this move that there probably wasn’t a horrific event at Bristol as what happened in Brazil.

    Adam

PS – The above comments on easyJet & Bristol Aiport have nothing to do with the fact that i live in Bristol 🙂

72 rtn? That is very good!

I have heard the SAS hotel is very good and can offer some fantastic views – Do bare in mind though that if you get a room overlooking the runway (09L/27R) that this view is only any good for photography in the later afternoon and evening (due to the position of the sun)

A couple of tips for you
It is easier to photograph approaches on 27L rather than 27R!
Shooting on 27L first thing in the morning can cause a slight problem due to shooting into the sun. As of 11am it seems to be ok.
If landing 09L (if using the 09’s they always use 09L regardless of time of day) there is a great field at the end of the runway – A long walk but worth it

Regardless of the weather conditions at Heathrow it will still be an experience like no other. I recently visited this wonderful place at 0600 in the morning and I counted 10, yes 10 B747’s in succession to land! Having jumbo after jumbo land is definitely an experience I would recommend to others.

One last piece of advice also – Take loads and loads of spare memory cards & batteries! Believe me you will need it
