Sorry to go off of the topic slightly chaps but i heard a rumour about the second runway at MAN.
Because of the increased movements this summer, (over last) that it warrants the use of 6R/24L during the curfew. Dont know how many movements were going to take place during this period but i just heard that they were at times going to use this runway between 12-3 at some point.

Am i along the right lines, or just full of rubbish??

I seem to remember reading that this happened at Heathrow years ago. The runway position hasnt changed but the designation did due to a change in magnetic variation.

I believe Heathrow used to be 10/28

A ‘sorry’ to the other gents aswell for the confusion. It was a typing error. I got excited with my keyboard and hit ‘9’ instead of ‘8’

Oh i’ve really lost it now – Although it was 0100 in the morning

I just worked out it wasn’t even me that said it!!

I’m just gonna go and leave now – holding my head in shame 🙁

Having just sorted out my colour space problem, I’ve replaced these shots with new edits that are hopefully a little less ‘washed out’, so if any of you who’ve commented so far see the new edits I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know how the colours are looking now! 🙂

Big difference mate, i can understand what you were talking about.

Even before the edit, these pictures were in a class of their own & i couldnt imagine them being any better….

    You proved me wrong 🙂

If flying from BRISTOL the aircraft type will be a B737-800.

Here is a picture of this aircraft

I’ve personally never flown with XL and so can’t comment. However hopefully you should have a pleasant experience flying from Bristol

Yes sorry Adam I was generalising because I didn’t have the time to explain, you are indeed correct it is a Privatair 319

No worries mate. I thought i had it wrong afterall the A319 and A320 look very similar from the A38 😀

    Paul i swear i’ve seen the Virgin 747, Singapore B772 & Qatar A332 before 😉

But seriously mate as always fantastic pictures. My favourite has to the the MYT A330 with the other spotters in the foreground. It really gives a sense of not only how close and unrestricted your view is, but how mighty the A330 is.

    Great work mate

To be honest, (and this is just MY opinion) but I wouldn’t bother visiting Filton. If you after spotting or photographing aircraft your best bet is to spend a few hours at Bristol Lulsgate.

Filton does have its advantages many which make the airport unique. It does as Deano pointed out, have a resident Concorde and MK Cargo airlines occasionally have DC8’s & B742’s in. But these can be far and few between. The only regular flights are as pointed out, the eastern airways & small private jets.

Bristol however is a large easyjet base (11 or 12 based aircraft) and throughout the day you find yourself viewing, probably a similar selection to what you would find at Newcastle – Perhaps slightly less, but maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong.

there’s the daily movement to Toulous carrying the workers that comes back around 5pm in a scarebus 320.

Is there? I always thought it was a Privatair A319 but hey, maybe im wrong.

Heathrow looks good from a high altitude.

A great varied selection of shots there. My favourite has to be the Alitalia and the easyJet.

    Great Work
