No geek me. I’m not really into the accuracy/period thing. I like buying old cheap loco’s and fixing them up so they run good.I do like green ones though.Same colour as my Kawasaki, but then racing bikes is bit geeky too! chuff chuff chaps.

That scrap yard is a great idea. I’ve been going crazy buying loco’s, been getting some bargains off the bay and I’m a dab hand at rebuilding ringfield tender drives now! Got 4 Britannia’s, Morning Star, William Shakespeare,Thomas Hardy and Brit herself. Two Margate era 9F’s and a modern Evening Star.4 Airfix Royal Scots which are great models and very cheap and a DX Mallard Railroad Version. Also a Spitfire as pictured above. Also 3 Flying Scotsmen, one which has been pro weathered and looks great.Loads of coaches and bought a layout which has made all my recently aquired track redundant. Chuff chuff!.

One of the great men in history,he certainly left his mark, both here and on the moon, where his first footprints will remain forever.

Its all Hornby track, the points do seem to be an issue, esp with the Flying Scotsman which is a modern chinese model. The wheel flanges don’t seem to be as pronounced as the older models.

Having become a regular visitor to that wonderful island post MoM and having seen the video I wish I could turn the clock back, it must have been just amazing,.I can see myself sitting in the British Hotel on the veranda with a cold one in the hand watching the two aircraft flying past, the sound must have been awesome. If you were there you were so lucky.
