To my untrained eye, this looks like metal, not fabric skin?
Wood covered with cloth then painted with a silver dope?
I took this shot on Saturday from the Friends of The Fighter Collection enclosure 🙂
I’ve tweaked it in Photoshop to loose both the Piper in the background and the mast :diablo:
What a lovely sight!
Firstly “remove colour” or “convert to black and white”. Increase contrast at tad and go to ” filters”. Choose “grain” and play about increasing contrast and intensity till it looks right. There are other things such as “add dust and scatches” that can age the pic, here’s my quick 2 minute conversion…

Great shot, Mark.12. Could almost bne an airfield, somewhere in England, in 1940….
Hope you don’t mind Mark….July 1940….

Thats brilliant!
Watching it, already got a lump in the throat. Well overdue. Now we need the Campaign Medal Bar.
Done.
It is the same with any major event, flying or not, there will be good years and bad years, sometimes an exeptional year, the only bad Legends I can remember where the weather was poor or there was a bad crash. The entry fee is reasonable for what you get, look at the prices for other non flying major events…how much to see top class footy match these days?? F1 anyone?
Its a brilliant thing for a kiddie though!!!! Any kiddie that ends up with it will be lucky little so and so!
The nickname for the ship seems appropriate…KOK!.
What a great chap, a real hero. Note the caption for the last pic of the Hurricane…ejected???.
