I was with Eric at the hospital on Thursday afternoon,although looking a bit battered and rather weak he was sitting out of bed and chatting and was hopeful of going to a rehab unit early next week.Unfortunately Friday night he had a relapse and renal failure.He died peacefully with his partner Jean and son Glenn in attendance.Eric was a real one in a million, the bravest and most humble man, he was a real national treasure and much loved and respected by all that knew him.I am sure the tributes to him will be well deserved.Here he is pictured on his 97th birthday a couple of weeks ago..[ATTACH=CONFIG]244190[/ATTACH]
