I will go a great deal further, I call for his head…. and on a ruddy sharp spike !!
Double standards rule the day again. 😡
An honourable individual of course would entertain only one course of action but I doubt if we (/I) will live long enough to witness that:rolleyes:

Ah come on Kev, now you are being really unfair.

There is a world of difference between a gang of ragheads who fly fully loaded aircraft into large buildings and kill more than 3,000 innocent people in a few hours, and a gang of lovable Irish rogues fighting to free the ‘Old Country’ from the yoke of English imperialism who kill more than 3,000 innocent people over twenty years or so (other than in terms of efficiency).

The former should be hunted down and terminated with extreme prejudice, the latter should be given sanctuary, protected from extradition, feted on St Patrick’s Day and be given lots of money to spend on (preferably American built) arms and explosives.

I am surprised you hadn’t realised that.

I can’t say I blame him. I can think of no circumstances under which I’d want to leave the beautiful East Anglian countryside to live in Liverpool again. That makes no difference to the fact that back in the 60s Lennon was who we all (most of us anyway) wanted to be

    Moggy

“a gang of ragheads” I am outraged !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First the Swede’s and now………. is nobody safe from these terrible slur’s.
Can we assume then that for “a gang of loveable Irish rouges” it is now safe to use the term *ickey !
Just goes to show that all folk are not born equal, obviously CoC rule 5 only applies to some

Thirty years on since his passing I wonder what on earth he would make of todays world. I’m pretty sure he would have been slung out of the states soon after the 1st Gulf war started, he was not one for keeping quiet about his beliefs, and quite rightly so. :diablo:

My understanding, after talking to some of the individuals involved, is that you were given target, a load, a height to bomb from, a time for take off and the rest was left up to your skipper.

It (every night) was a very big and co ordinated thing in it’s entirety, but the individual crews felt a tad isolated I think.

“Jumbo” watertower Colchester from the top of the Bt exchange.
Taken several years ago with a (then) very expensive 2meg Fuji that could not do justice to just how spectacular this sunset was

Some of the moderation on this forum comes over as hypocrisy: ref this, (post 3)

I knew I had seen it but could not find it, It was the only reason why I had demanded a public bottom smacking !
I knew that I must have been encouraged into my discression by somebody, I just couldn’t remember who it was. 😀
As Private Godfrey would say “Oh dear Oh dear Oh dear”
I wonder what happens now? Who dishes out the required punishments?
que complete silence………………. a distant bell tolling………… the odd tumbleweed rolling by:rolleyes:

My dear fellow flyingant……… I owe you several beers….. very well spotted.

    P. 😉

In all the years I have been on here I have only been “moderated” twice. However both times it has been pretty draconian in application.
All I ask for is that if I upset a moderators sense of what is or is not acceptable that I am offered the chance (after sensible discussion via PM) to ‘self moderate’ . Obviously if a post is very inflammatory or contains bad swearing then yes…. instant action should be taken but……… ?
What should happen in a case like this ?
We probably all agree the word to mean what it does in common use ie “a theiving neer do well”.
In fact if you Wiki or google it up and do some research to call a Gipsy (who are members of a genuine minority group) a pXckey is a huge insult to them, the genuine Gipsy’s hate them (by their own admission) for giving them a bad name!
Who was genuinley wronged ? Who was insulted or had their self esteem lowered or their human rights infringed ?

The bottom line is how things are done properly. If it is a serious offence then a mod should be able to take pretty quick action to either alter or even delete something and do so confidant that they would have the support of all on the forum.
What I would regard as a minor discression should have an element of sensible discussion via PM before action, voluntary or otherwise, is taken. The moderation team have the ultimate power in the end but the forum is not their personal kingdom.
