I too never had the pleasure of meeting Steve, but his posts on this forum were always interesting to read, and his thread about taking Haydn up in the Rapide from Duxford was wonderful.

My condolences to all his family

Well personally I hate seeing dead machines of any sort. It is only when you see a machine doing what it was designed to do that you really get good impression of how its original creators envisaged it being used.

This statement does not only apply to aircraft, but trains, cars etc as well. This is why I give what little money I have free for this type of thing to museums like the Shuttleworth collection where I am fairly certain that they wont spend it on hanging an aircraft from the ceiling of a flash new hanger, but on keeping rare machines operational.

You could go to the Chequers in Fowlmere for Saturday night. Every time I have been the food has been fantastic.
Not sure what to suggest for Sunday. There is lots to see in Cambridge if you have not been before. You also may want to visit the American War cemetary at Madingley which is very moving.

Thanks all :). Can I add my thanks to all the volunteers who help put on such magical shows.

Robbo, this was the first airshow out of the last 6 I have been to where it has not rained :).

I asked when we went to the forum evening, and was told that basically as long as there is a will to keep it flying, it will.
