My beef as well, if you work full time don’t have a dog!! .

I agree in principle, but in practice circumstances change.

My own Parents have 2 dogs work shifts so there are seldom times when there is nobody home, but on occasion the dogs are left for several hours, I personally think having the 2 mitigates this somewhat.
Dog walkers not an option for them as although generally very friendly dogs, the rotty in particular has negative views of people entering the house if my Parents aren’t in.

Can I say now that I wish to bid for the civil engineering works for the new air base. First, I must ask for credible assurances from the government of Andorra that it has identified locations for the population to move to while my workers blow up Andorra’s mountains & bulldoze the rubble into the valleys, to create enough level ground for runways & hard standing (I suggest some of the housing estates built in Spain immediately prior to the crash), & secondly, I’m a little concerned about how Andorra will pay for my services with the entire economy closing down to make way for the air force, so I’ll need bank guarantees.

As soon as these are received, I’ll start hiring & putting out tenders to subcontractors.

****** beaten to the punch by swerve.

Well maybe but people should accept that responsibility for them. Get up early and walk them!

My neighbour used dog walkers as on occasion neither he nor his wife would be at home for a full day, the dog walkers used to go around at lunchtime thus giving the dogs human contact.

I personally try not to leave my dog more than an hour or so if I can possibly avoid it. In the south of France summer is not the time to go shopping with the dog.

Exactly so and in recent years those two sides of the coin have become further detached from each other. I am old enough to believe that the two are inseperable. If you want your rights you must accept your responsibiities to the society in which you chose to live.
It is shameful that judges and lawyers have renounced that cornerstone of civilised life.

Now Sir i do not allways agree with the views you express, but this one im with you 100% my biggest grumpy old man moan these days is that all the little scrotes in this fair land are taught their rights at school but nobody ever seems to teach them their responsibilities.

This is a pretty sad story, but kind of funny when I realize just how stupid people can be. It goes to show that they should really make exceptions for security reasons. The fact that they couldn’t proceed toward the aircraft “for safety reasons” is pretty disturbing. Surely there was a lack of smarts used in this whole situation.

    (my bold)

You can perhaps argue many failings in this case, however the decision by security not to pursue is unlikely to be one of them.

Not running in front of a moving aircraft is not a nod to the HSE but in most people a survival trait.

The crew are very unlikely able to see you and you are unlikely to see all of the bumps lumps and other protruberences that may strike you, quite apart from the risk of being injested or blown / blasted senseless.

I myself have witnessed an awful lot of cases of Antenna Rash caused by inattention near staionary aircraft

Visited belsen on a school trip (Father was in forces) when i was around 8-10
even then the gravity was apparent to us -none of the usual larking around.

    Re the photos

What I find truly disturbing / disgusting is that on other websites the pictures of smiling jews and or non starving jews is used as evidence that the holocost never happened.

I used to believe that the laws against denying the holocost were an oppressive, uneeded and ridiculous manner of dealing with a few extreemists and or idiots.

Sadly as time came to pass i realised that unfortunatly this isnt the case.

    Very funny.

I had heard of the book and assumed it was just another femcentric self-help book, so I looked it up on Amazon. I got a bit of a surprise.

    Think youreself lucky

Picture the scene tis a lovely sunday afternoon and all aresat around the living room relaxing (me and the father with a wee dram) watching a film. All but mother that is, Mother is reading on her kindle a book called 50 shades of Grey.
When all of a sudden mother looks up from the kindle utters those immortal words “Whats Fisting”. Ive no Idea never heard of it says the wife. Glancing at my father as i beat a hasty retreat “youre on your own says I”

The next words I heard were What the B@*^% hell are you reading.

My mothers almost 65 its not the sort of thing you want to have to explain to youre mother, especially when you know the next questions are 1 are you sure and 2 how do you know.

The book should come with some sort of warning, if not for the reader then for innocent bystanders.

    oh also nicked the poem

Wow what a wonderful propaganda cartoon – especially the use of children as the main characters to spread your demented and engrained hatred!!

Of course its a propoganda video the malvinas is argentine is ingrained in the country and the current gvmnt appears intent on hyping the issue no end as a distraction.

Propoganda works both ways and you appear to have picked up your views of Argentina from the mail.

Fancy those bad evil British airman and soldiers….how dare they defend their countrymen and sovereign island, from the invading free spirited and humane liberating Argentinean Junta.

I’m now just hoping the wonderful and talented makers of this cartoon bring out a similar cartoon series explaining the Argentinean Military Junta, depicting the torture, executions, and oppression of the Argentinean people …..oh and don’t forget the bleeding of the country’s economy! A fun show for all the family!

Argentina is badly scarred by the Junta and even now is seeking answers to the disapeared. They are well aware of how unpleasent it was

Man I’ve never understood the hype the Argentinians made over the sinking of the heavy cruiser General Belgrano!

They didnt it was certain individuals (Tam whats his name )in this country who made an issue of this, admittedly certain individuals in argentina have hopped on this band wagon, but to paraphrase the Belgranos captain “I had orders to sink them they got me first thats war”

The reality is that this was a war of aggression, that Argentina initiated against a country and people, who are renowned for protecting their own. Didn’t the Argentinean Junta have the intellect to read about the British peoples resolve against aggression of the likes of Nazi Germany during WWII?

They also looked at a country that was selling a carrier, scrapping its south atlantic patrol ship, was retrenching generally and had more or less stated the falklands were a drain and nuissance. The junta opinioned that if presented with a fait accomplait britain would do nothing, in hindsight a hell of a miss judgement

No they wouldn’t have, as they too busy at the time hiding and protecting Nazi criminals in Argentina! Also in truth it has to be remembered that Argentina had not fought a proper opponent since the 1880’s!

The Argentines fought on the allied side in WW2 (although the country itself was nuetral until very late)

In truth, my only true regret is that the British Government never truly allowed the British military free and unrestricted operations. What would the Argentinians have thought after its Navy had been sunk in harbour by Royal Navy SSN’s?

    And World opinion?

Or its Air Force attacked on their airfields by RAF Vulcan bombers and SAS/Commando teams. Then again all this might have achieved, would have been to give the Argentinians a reason to use this so-called (and just) counter strike for another 100+ years, as they have sulked over the Falklands!

But seriously Argentina, I do not mean to be derogative, but it’s been over 130 years since your aspirations for these Islands existed! Just like the people of the Balkan’s and everywhere else that procrastinates and inspires hatred for actions taken hundreds of years ago – Get over it. Grow up and move on into the 21st Century for the good of Argentina and your people!!

You do realise that Argentina has it written in the costitution not to use armed force to take the Islands, how many countries have non aggresson enshrined in their constitution.
    Regards
    Pioneer

The Argentines believe the islands are rightfully theirs. the dispute will not go away.
Given that the islanders are there and have been for generations I believe the best solution is an independant falklands working closely with the uk and arg and a mineral rights agreement.

On a personal note I have seen a few threads accross mutiple forums ruined by a handful of rabid argentine posters, on this thread the argentine poster has been extremely civil (in the face of some quite aggressive provocation). Can we all please post with civility and a measure of respect.
