    Goverment cover-up

Hi guys. I guess I’m a believer in alien visitations. there’s just too much info around the world re UFO sightings, even here ‘Down-under’. Now, at times we have trouble believing what our government tells us, and they are quite tame in comparison to yours, so there’s absolutely no way I would believe what your gov’ tells you. Let’s face it, your powers that be are not really part of your government anyway. God only knows how many Secret Services actually run your country but it certainly isn’t your president and his chosen few. BTW, I’ve no axe to grind here.
I’ve just finished reading Dean Koontz novel “Strangers”. Although fiction, it’s a brilliant insight to the steps that they would take to cover-up events such as Roswell.

    Keep em comin

Being an expat in Oz, I really enjoy your shots from the UK. I’ve been here about 30years and still miss the greenery of the UK country side. Here in South Australia, trees are a dingy grey green and for most of the year, the grass is dead. There is a beauty in the outback, in the mountains or by the sea, but non of it is as peaceful as “The green, green grass of home”

Two Kookaburra’s laughing at each other as I walked my dogs in a local park. Just hope they weren’t laughing at me.

    Memories

A guy stuck in traffic jam in the car next to me at Hadleigh;) shame his wife did not see the funnyside of things.:)

    G’day Folks, greetings from Oz.
Anna, It that the Hadleigh in Essex? Hope so. I was raised in Thundersley and went to King John Secondary school. Ah happy memories. Been in Oz for some 28 years and now fly a Jabiru LSA55. Somewhat different to the Lightnings I used to work on. I can say that I have been up close and personal with the Spits, Hurricane and Lancaster of the B.o B. Flight when it was at Coltishall. My first posting was to Abingdon , 47 Sqdn Beverleys. Only there for a year before retraining for jets.
Must say, I still miss the English greenery, early morning gallops across frosted fields and sometimes, the rain. We’ve had 3 years of drought.(Adelaide)
Thanks for the memory and, Have a nice day. I will.
    Cheers, Doug.

Hi Topspeed. I like it, a nice clean profile. I don’t see the benefits of V tails, inverted or not, but I must admit that I am now thinking inverted Y for my design. This is more for aesthetic reasons really, like the feathers of a crossbow bolt or an arrow. If you’ve opened our site forum, you’ll be aware that I have named my design the ‘DeMansfield Bolt’. My name is D.W.Mansfield but the revised spelling seems to roll of the tongue, so to speak. Before you ask, yes, Jane was a relation, way, way, way back.lol.
As to the seat arrangement in the VK-30, I don’t see any problem with 5 seats. How they are arranged I have know idea but the most likely is 1, 2, 2, all with ample shoulder room.
As for my design, I’m struggling with cockpit size and shape at the moment. I tried to go ultra streamlined but that didn’t work. A long nose put the CoG out too far and besides, I don’t think a reclined posture would be good for long trips. Now it’s a case of balance in all things at the cost of a small amount of speed. It is also begining to look as though I’ll have to use more F/glass than I originally intended (nil)

As my intention was for it to be cheap, it basically comes done to what you can scrounge. Initially I thought that a VW was the most likely and when stripped to the bare minimum, they probably offer the best power to weight ratio. I’m not sure what power output will be needed as I haven’t done the whole weight thing yet. As for the smallest engine….depends on how much you want to spend. A BMW bike engine for example. I have a thing for Citroens and have thought about their flat four from the GA Club. A very smooth and willing engine but high reving. That motor in only 1300 cc but with the right gearing it might work. I’m not sure about the fuel consumption though, might be a bit high. The planes you mention were built by people with a lot more nouse than me and obviously managed to get really low power to weight ratios.

Yeh that’s a neat plane but I want to go a bit firther in that my prop will be in a less dangerous position and I’d like self supporting(cantilever), removable mid-height wings for a better view all round. For those of you that can’t or haven’t opened my link to http://www.recreationalflying.com.au , I’ve attached a few piccies of my initial modeling, one that another has done for me based on a modified Sapphire and another design I started some years ago. Please note that nothing was to scale in these models so don’t come back with comments like ‘your wings are too thin(cord wise)’ cause I know. My final design is heading towards a more laid back seating attitude and a much more streamlined canopy.
I would recommend you all sign up with our site, it a huge data base. I hope some of you take the time and trouble to do so.

    Cheers Doug

Actually it was GoogleShetchup, originally for architectural design, and not really a CAD program. It’s a free download that has been used to make some very intricate engineering models. See their library.

I had words with our site people and they’re sure the slow load problem must be at KP’s end. Below are the resulting posts from my inquiry.

    Hope this helps you guys.

    Cheers. Doug
