However a Hurricane was almost twice as likely to be shot-down as a Spitfire during the same period.

Unsurprising really, there were approximately twice as many Hurricanes than Spitfires in action.

Good point such WWII types like the Grumman Wildcat flew combat missions during the entire war. In the case on the latter is was flying and shooting down enemy aircraft almost til the every end…….

I read somewhere, that the Hellcat was the most successful aircraft in ‘naval’ history, with 5163 victories scored over enemy aircraft.

The Bf 109 is widely accepted as the aircraft that scored more victories than any other fighter, but it’s fair to say that they had a lot of easy targets.
Erich Hartmann scored 352 aerial kills on the Eastern Front.

There’s much discussion on which was the ‘best’ fighter of WWII, but little is written about overall scores per type.
The American discussion continues to this day as to whether it was the P-38 or the P-51.

My best guess would also be the Hurricane, but maybe I’m biased.

It’s getting harder for me to find something that Mr Creosote hasn’t seen on the other forum where we played this game for a while, but maybe this will challenge even him:

Have a care, it may look obvious at first glance, but isn’t!

I had been thinking about this for a while, but BSG beat me to it.

Actors come, go and times change.
What was good for my generation when the Bond movies started, is old hat now, so no one under the age of 60+ can be a reasonable judge.

If we could all have been 20 something at the time each of the movies was released, had the hindsight and foresight of things past and to come, we would all be able to offer a fair appraisal.
As that isn’t possible, the best thing to do is treasure your favourite actor, which for me isn’t possible, cos I take it for granted that the films are only made to make loads’a money for the makers.:dev2:

It looks a bit like the DINFIA I.A.38 Naranjero, but appears to have more dihedral and larger vertical stabilisers.

If anyone wants to see one of the worst pages on the whole of the internet for spelling, this has to be a leading contender!!!

๐Ÿ™ I had to watch the last episode of The Commander, but caught a few minutes during the commercial breaks.

As for watching it on the internet:

Sorry this show is for UK audiences only.

    Bummer!

I’m sorry Atomic Sheep, but I must agree with AgCat on this one.

I’ve been an aeromodeller, on and off, for 60 years, in 1989 I scratch built my childhood dream, a 1/10 scale HE-111 that took me 5 months @ 17 hrs per day, 7 days per week.

To attempt a full scale build from scratch is another thing entirely!
Can you explain to me and anyone else interested, what qualifications you have and how much research you’ve done on airframe construction etc?

Do you really want to end up an old man, with a partly built dream in your shed/garden/hangar?

My hat is off to you if you honestly believe your project is realisable and I say, go for it, but cross all the Ts and dot all the Is before starting!

Better a folder full of info, than an expensive, never to be finished shell?

Only an older guy’s honest opinion! ๐Ÿ˜€

Not all French, but there is an amazing collection of aircraft, covering the years, 1903-1913 listed here and the archives are easily searchable:
