This document looks like nothing more than a press release issued by the USAF to its own personnel. Most USAF personnel will probably not even bother to read it. What’s wrong with debunking ‘false narratives and inaccuracies reflected in news media reporting’ anyway?

1. PURPOSE: Provide guidance to Airmen on the F-35A in order to:
1) Articulate the capabilities of the aircraft and explain it is a capability warfighters must have
(explain why we need the F-35)
2) Debunk false narratives and inaccuracies reflected in news media reporting; and
3) Emphasize the importance of the Air Force fielding the capability and having the capacity to best
support combatant commander needs.

So if they really are S-300s been shipped into Syria, against whose aircraft are they expected to be deployed? ISIS, or that other separatist crowd don’t have any airforce to speak off – and the only other non-syrian AF aircraft that operate over Syria are US Israeli and sometimes UK and Turkey?

Mi-28 has more then a slight armor advantage over 52. Like I said DIRCM is nice and all. But bigger threat in that mess will be good all fashion AA and your regular small arms wielding beardie.

At night time AA guns and small arms are not much use, that is when the Ka-52 will have the advantage. Also, the Ka-52 and Mi-28 should be able to attack ground targets ell outside the range of such anti-aircraft weapons – even in daytime.

and where did you get the figure of 1,00,000 flight hours for the period of 15 odd years that the Su-30MKI fleet has been operational? Pulled that one out of your rear as well?

Is there a figure for total flight hours flown by Su-30MKI available? There are a total of 6 losses of Flanker types in the IAF? That’s more than USAF F-22 losses. It also does not compare well with the 3 Eurocanard types either.

i watched the parade. The UAV/UCAVs are carried on back of the truck rather in flight past. it shows how unreliable are these unmanned aircraft for flight formations.

well to put it differently, what if you gave the F-15 and F-16 AESA and DAS and the latest in ECM, sensors and weapons? how would they fare against the F-22, F-35, J-31 and T-50?
certainly if said equipment is from say 2020, which would be a generation younger than what’s in the F-35, and certainly the F-22

F-15 and F-16 already have AESA – but neither type would be as stealthy as the others in any case.
