Are you referring to the RuAF? I wouldn’t be surprised if they will have 25 “combat ready” An-124s by 2020 – that’s exactly how many airframes they have now, flying and non-flying – they don’t need to build anymore, do they?

Also, this deal, coupled with the Libyan request for Russian help servicing equipment shows that nations don’t “hold grudges” against “supporters” of previous regimes. If there is possibility of economic or military cooperation, realpolitik kicks in.

If the new regimes were to “hold grudges” on those countries which supported the old regimes – I’d say countries like the USA, Britain, France, and maybe even Russia wouldn’t have a friend left in the world… :confused:

Its basically about a highly prized asset like AH-64 & its cost-effectiveness in a competent battlefield. AH-64s battlefield experience till now have been without any strong opponents which is not going to be the case when it is employed against Pakistan or China or against Russia by NATO.
