What do you exactly mean? The R-73 should have a max range of 30km while the R-27T should have double that range.
But, then again, that was a usual combo for Fulcrums back in the day(2 R-27R + 4 R-73).

And no, Slovak MiG-29s are not likely to be phased out anytime soon. A dozen birds got upgraded to AS/UBS standard (TACAN, VOR/ILS, IFF bird slicers and MiG-29SM type cockpit) and these are the backbone of the fleet now. Slovakia urgently needs tactical transports (C-27J..) to replace An-26s, new fighters have lower priority.

Inferior in turn and agility yes but the MiG-23MLD had a superior radar, better acceleration, and better landing and handling characteristics. The N008E Sapfir-23MLAE-2 was superior (either in range or ability to look down or shoot down) than the F-4’s radar and even the early F-16’s radar, under nose under-nose TP-26-Sh IRST. Based on ACIG info, the Syrians prefer using the 23 over the 29 for interception duties.

Which F-4 had inferior radar (there were many types of F-4)?

Although I can imagine that the MiG-23 might be a better air defence, intercept aircraft than the 29 – if I can believe that the MiG-23 had significantly better range and endurance than the MiG-29?:confused:

In this now famous picture, it has one bay, seems to be the same size as the pak-fa bay, but this bay included a bulge on the fueselage

on the other hand drawings of the su-47 pre bulge show something that looks like it had 2 side by side bays. did the 47 really have 2 bays back then?
