Ha, ha… been to MAKS in 2004, 2005, 2007. Thinking about appropriate wear to an airshow reminded me of an incident in 2005 while I was waiting outside the security barriers and metal detectors to get into MAKS with two, British, friends. In front of us in the queue was a girl wearing some sort of gold lame, shoulderless, sleeveless top (something you might see on a cabaret performer). To quote the British (female) response: “yeah, you would wear something like that to an airshow, wouldn’t you”.

But it makes no difference to me what anyone wears to an airshow…

makes me sad about Lavochkin’s end in the fighter industry, I thought La-15 was decent.

How about each aircraft’s radar (India was not over pleased with the M2000 radar, allegedly)?

BA degree in Russian Studies, spend over 5 years of my life in Russia, I still do some work in translating from Russian to English. When I was choosing my “klichka” for this forum 6 years back I was, at that time, reading the story of “Levsha, The Tale of Cross-eyed Lefty from Tula and the Steel Flea”. It’s a tale which I found very interesting and amusing – hence, I borrowed the name…
