Have you seen the nails sticking out of those pieces of wood ???
Talk about risky if he stood on one of those ! 😀
I saw them too, but aren’t they a little early for Farnborough ???
Not forgeting a BIG thank-you to Melvyn for trying to keep us under control … 😀
Latest update from Dunsfold today (don’t forget the “Wings and Wheels” event at Dunsfold on August 27th: http://www.wingsandwheels.net

I wouldn’t be suprised if they are still trying to decide whether it is vermillion or orange ? 😀
Great site, just sent my congratulations to the author also.
Staverton came very close to happening but the infrastructure was just not quite suitable for us, the runway length and hangar size being to two main issues. We need somewhere with no or little commercial operation, a 45000 sq ft hangar and 1800m of runway.
Sounds as though Dunsfold could have been a possibility, but I believe there are now plans to turn it into a housing estate.
If I am to support the SCG, I would expect BASpeedbird001 to answer the questions raised concerning how they plan to negotiate the lack of design authority, spares, etc and I would also want details of their (apparently non-existant) business plan to understand how they intend to raise the initial funds to get Concorde back in the air and how they intend to continue to raise the funds to keep her there.
I do NOT expect to see BASpeedbird001 constantly refusing to answer the very valid questions raised so far and repeatedly state that people should be going to SCG for help. Regarding AF at Filton, quote “They really do need to enlist our assistance”, no BASpeedbird001, you should be offering SCG’s “expertise” and go along there and get involved if you want to be taken seriously.
Speaking as someone who’s job includes performing business analysis and project management, I have not (so far) seen a single reason to donate a penny to their cause …
Anyone wanting more info on this event (taking place on Sunday 27th August) can find details on the following website:

If anyone was wondering how Brookland’s Concorde is progressing, see below. The interior is now open for the public to look inside while restoration continues.

The BBC have an article on their news site:

Nobody’s compared Spits to Hurricanes yet …. :diablo:
I would agree it’s Gustave Albin Whitehead.
There are several references to his early flights, one of which is in the wikipedia encyclopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustave_Whitehead
