Many thanks for the information windhover! Sounds like a it has similarities to a spit tank, but a different design, which I suspect means the hurricane and spit used different tanks, as it would make sense that hawker would use the same or very similar design between the two aircraft. I will check out my hurricane parts manual to see if the hurricane mounting straps are the same p/n as the typhoon.
It looks from your drawing like it doesn’t but out of curiosity does a tiffy tank have an access panel like a spit?
