Many thanks for that Air Min!

I have passed on the info to the owner of said tail wheel. He is looking to move it on, so if anyone is interested PM me and I will pass on the contact details.

Thanks again, Chumpy.

Scan of the illustration of the gun cover assembly from the parts book, this the closest that you will get to an actual drawing. The drawing that would show the individual parts / assembly etc is 30008-Sht 91, to the best of my knowledge, no copies of this exist.

I had a quick flick through a couple of old Air Britain registers, only middle / far eastern civil Proctors that I could find were AP-AHA in Pakistan ex NP211. Along with a batch in Jordan TJ-AAK, AAL, AAM,AAN, AAO.

When first restored in the U.K. MK732 had full span wingtips, come the repaint from RAF to RNLAF colours in 2000, also decided to take the tips off!
Lots of fun and games in the paint shop at Woensdrecht, working in between the paint sprayers trying to cut in and fit the clipped-wing end caps!…Harry van der Meer doing the masking of the serial on the fin.

A few happy days spent on the base doing the job, much lubrication consumed in the bar in the evening!!

A couple of scans from an old Airspeed promo brochure, I think the Munich machine had the higher 40+ seat layout, rather than the 28.

I think the main theme..of said theme park, was to seperate tourists from their money.
Way back when it was just the natural beauty of the location…over the years due to changing tastes and coastal erosion. Various bits of old tat were acquired to draw the punters in!

Here’s part of one I broke earlier!… can do you some dimensions for you…. However looks like QldSpitty is way ahead of me, with CAD modelling etc…perhaps able to supply some actual dimensions??

Whilst at Sandown never did find a positive ID for the P-39, just the first three digits ‘220’ on the fin. It departed to the USA in June 2000, not sure where. The photo shows it ‘propped’ up with sticks for a photo shoot in 1999.

The Fi103 just a static replica, possibly the example now on show at Weybourne, Norfolk according to Wrecks & Relics.

Despite the museum being closed for some 10 years or more, to this day unsuspecting tourists still turn up at Sandown, looking for the place. Such is the power of the internet and the continued listing of the place in various on-line visitor guides!

Yup certainly a bit of suspect footage used in the prog.. Dare say they only went for targets in the east-end, long way back to base and all that!
