Great weather, super day out..thanks Andy!
Many thanks for the info Dave.
If there are some good gnome tool jokes, please feel free I’m broad minded..just as well they were not Goblin!
Cheers, Chumpy.
It is 1-5/16″ diameter, as mentioned by Bruce two tubes one inside the other. The outer tube item 71, slid over a piece of 1-1/4″.
Alas do not have a drawing showing the item that you mention, however 33008-602 would look to be the outer skin panel from the port gun door, between ribs 13-14. (Assembly 33008-Sht 71).
Scan from a parts listing attached, item -601/2 deleted with the introduction of MOD 1029.

Looks to be on order of the ‘Man from the Ministry’, perhaps to avoid confusion with the earlier Sup Seagull variant. Scan attached from the Putnam Supermarine volume.
Corrigendum 1 etc…I’ve learnt a new word tonight…(the guy obviously had too much time on his hands). However normal service was resumed with the adoption of the Shagbat title!!

As per the last two posts, plus a mixture of soapy water applied to seams / joints with a paint brush…watch for the bubbles!
Only intended as thumbnails..will get on the case later on with some decent scans!
These any good? Only small snaps but fairly sharp VM125, VM132, VR569 and G-ALWA. Also have a couple of sales brochures.
PM me for details etc.
Cheers, Chumpy.
The last two digits of the part number (23) would indicate that it is rudder related.
Scan from an original (1950s), Skyways paper napkin..every home should have one!!

Hi David, Many thanks for that…judging by the axle & iron-work, wheel barrows also!!
Cheers, Chumpy.
Hi there Avro, Thanks for your input, interested in the reason for the brass nuts, you live and learn etc. I gave the ‘flat’ fork fitting a bit of a scrape-off.. alas a standard ‘AGS’.. SP7Y part number under the rust.
So they remain all a bit bog-standard..unless someone knows otherwise!?
With reference to another current ‘thread’ re the value of Spitfire PLC, I feel another 50p can now be added to the total!
Nice wings, they seem to have a few additional ribs inboard of the aileron..obviously the company that likes to give you ‘extra’. Still as they say, has been signed off by the CAA, so must be OK I guess!
It looks very much like a timer made by Garrard of Swindon, better known for their record player turntables etc. During WW2 they turned their hands to making such devices, used in various time delay munitions it would seem.
Pic of one that I picked up at a car-boot earlier this year, since flogged on..the new owner tells me that it still works a treat!
