For some people religion is just simply a way of finding somewhere they can go speak to without having it being a man with a clipboard saying pedantically “how are you feeling today?” – like I have over many years, I’ve used praying to God for miracles and finding a way to make me feel strong.
10 years ago yesterday on 20th January 2004 my sister had a heart attack and was dying, I went to the prayer room at school every single day asking for a miracle and here we are 10 years later and she’s still alive, even though the Doctor’s said she had (at the time) the worst heart in the North East and would probably be dead by the end of 2004 …
Some people, like me, don’t use religion as a malice to other people nor do I stand with a bible telling people “you shall burn in the fired pits of the hells below our feet” – because contrary to popular belief, not all of us are inclined to the exact same settings.

All my VISA application forms are done and posted and I’ll be moving to Taiwan in 12 days 🙂
When home in the UK I watch things like comedy shows such as Miranda or Mrs Brown’s Boys.
My parents like to use it as a way of us all having a family-time moment, especially given that I work away for up to one year at a time.
🙂
It’s strange in a way to see how different your maths questions were to mine in 2007.
I thought my students here in Taiwan were amazing at maths but this might have beaten them. But they also do all of their work mentally, no calculators involved.
A question from 1st grade elementary school in Taiwan is long multiplication: what’s 5932 x 9534
Brilliant photos. Simply stunning, is all I can say. Well, that and the fact that they’re located in my home town.
🙂
I admire your humour but I work professionally as a teacher in Thailand and avoid things such as ladyboys… but if that’s what fills your entertainment charter, then so be it. Bring them here and put them on stage with some British singer of similar bond or genre. Perhaps someone who’s done the West End like Chicago?

Perhaps if we leave the EU we could leave the song contest as well?
The Eurovision Song Contest and European Broadcasting Union has no connection at all to the European Union, hence why countries such as Israel are part of the contest when they technically are an Asian country.
Even if the UK leaves the European Union, the BBC would still remain part of the Eurovision Song Contest and the UK would still be in the “big 5”.
I speak to singers of the contest via direct messaging and I’m rather involved with the contest itself.

For me personally, as the vast majority of my chances of work in the UK are to do with my abilities and skills in speaking 7 languages, then I personally don’t want to leave the EU because I could then put my abilities to use and they could, in effect, be useful for things such as meetings, trade, organising events etc with other European countries that are part of the EU.
I also see the beneficial things that would, in the long run, be helpful to the UK… but I think in general thing whole referendum is more of a “oh now we can finally sweep out the foreigners and close our borders and they can never come back here to work or live” mindset – which really infuriates me.
Its almost as if people want us to have the same political setting as North Korea – you have a Government that rules you and have closed borders to the world that no one can enter without permission but you can’t leave without permission.
