Firstly, I’d like to point out that not all the “yoof of t’day” are the same, as I for one was educated by my parents and grandparents to be well-mannered and show respect to other people, as it’s one of the means of life. However, I would like to point out, that some of the older generation of our country are just as ill-mannered as the youth, for example, I was on a language chat room the other night and I already had some friends there and myself and a friend from Saudi Arabia were saying hello/how’re you?/fine, thanks in Arabic, and a 52 year old British native, automatically assumed his rash thinking and without thinking of how rude it would sound, I quote that he said “NEW RULE NO TURKISH ALLOWED HERE”. I obviously had to educate him in the differences between Arabic and Turkish, but the point I’m trying to make is that I would never even consider saying something like that, so it’s not all of the youth of today.
Some of us actually are mannered.
