Just in from Newark Air Museum:
“Evening everyone, so it seems as though we will be having to implement some revisions to our Covid-Secure procedures in the coming days, but we’re hopeful of being able to remain open!
During the coming days we will update the information on our website.”
Good news from Newark!
“Great news from yesterday when the museum passed its latest VAQAS Assessment!
More details ion the website & well done everyone!!
Thank you both for the updates.
Another heads-up from Newark!
“A reminder this morning that we’re now on late autumn/winter opening hours (10am to 4pm – last admission 3pm), but as ever there’s always a warm welcome at our Gateway Aviation Site.
Supposedly that’s the case according to the grapevine; curious where it’s due to depart from!
Reports on Fighter Control this morning that WR985 has now departed from St Mawgan, with reports of it road running on the M25 near Potters Bar – does anyone have any idea where it might be heading?
I have some more info on one of the non-accessed aircraft seat we’re trying to identify – it’s American; manufactured by Aerotherm Corp, Bantam, Connecticut; Model 512k; Spec. TSO C.39-9GF – any more ideas?
Footnote: TSO-C39c might be a FAA standard for seating systems in transport, rotorcraft, normal and utility airplanes, and acrobatic.
Apologies, my mis-understanding!
Fresh news from NAM last night:
“Details of our provisional 2022 List of air museum events has now been added to the museum website; some details & dates to be confirmed & these will be firmed up in due course!
These items surfaced as a result of the ‘deep-store’ being rationalised and unidentified (non-accessed) items being moved to a new location – not sure that there’s a second Scout seat on site!
Thanks again; for the Scout seat it’s best to get them to email admin (at) newarkairmuseum.org and they will follow it up from there!
Thanks for that feedback – we’d gone for Scout on the second seat, based on observations in the Skeeter & from the serial on the back. I will try to get them to sort some additional photos at the weekend – based on some additional feedback this morning:
“The seat folds
Not believed to be anything in our current collection
Believed late 1940s, or early 1950s vintage
Not certain of OEM nationality”
“Twitter appeal from the museum today – aircraft seats i.d.

Another update from Newark Air Museum.
“The museum is now into half-term mode and given the weather forecast we expect that the undercover offer will be popular.

It’s also good to be able to advise that we are once again able to host our Remembrance Sunday Service this year!
No autumn Aeroboot at Newark!
“Details have just been added to the museum website, advising that we won’t be hosting another Aeroboot / Aerojumble sale this autumn -sorry!
Just in from Newark – “A photo gallery from today’s 1940s Weekend event at the museum has now been uploaded to the website, we hope that it might encourage a few of you to visit us tomorrow!

Better Weather is forecast!!”
