Perhaps I ought to have thought bit more about the positioning of that comment – for clarification it’s not as obvious as the original comment may have implied!

“An update has just been added to the museum website to clarify the situation regarding our current planning work for when the Government guidelines change, and we are allowed to re-open the main museum site again.

Not too bad given the devastating circumstances for everyone concerned with Covid-19 and the associated ‘fall-out’ the real challenge is going to be trying to restart in a viable manner – mini-update just about to be added to the briefing thread!

“Our two week Order & Collect system is now closed and thanks to everyone who has participated your support of our fund raising efforts is appreciated!

Our new focus is re-opening the Museum Shop on Tues 16th June!!

Fresh news out of Newark:

“Great news – the date for the re-opening of the Museum Shop has been finalised!

Another update from Newark Air Museum:

“Details of the new NAM Order & Collect option for Museum Shop purchases is now live on our website; the system will come into operation on Tuesday 2nd June, 2020.

Here’s they key text form their email; “……….. The Joint Liquidators are currently exploring sale options for the aircraft and ….”

I did decline their offer, but I have not heard back from them since.

Restoration information from NAM:

“An update has been added to the museum website that provides an overview of our restoration plans for when we can re-open.

Reduced work anticipated on Vulcan upper surfaces this year, but lots of other projects to help us comply with anticipated social distancing requirements!
