From NAM’s Twitter feed & other Fora:
“Today the museum should have been hosting its first Indoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble event of the year.
A Poll has just been added to the museum’s twitter feed concerning when to host the next Aeroboot / Aerojumble Sale. The options suggested are:
With Cockpit-Fest if held
Sale after lockdown ends
Wait for October’s indoor sale
Another suggestion
I couldn’t see how to create a poll on here, but feedback is appreciated!”
Another update from NAM:
“We’d just like to say a big thank you on behalf of the museum if you’re one of the people that has made a donation to our Just Giving Page, it is greatly appreciated & will help to us get through the challenges presented by the Corona virus outbreak!
Another update has been added to the NAM website that details its current situation http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/Coronavirus_Update_03
Plus you can help them to generate vital funds at this challenging time by following either of the weblinks to their JUST GIVING & EASY FUND RAISING pages.

I know that any support will be greatly appreciated.
Some further information from NAM:
“A while back we produced a Nottinghamshire Aviation Memorials booklet using funds from a Local Improvement Scheme Grant provided by the Nottinghamshire County Council. Printed copies have all gone but we are still able to email out PDF versions, we thought this might be interest for some people during this current lock-down.
Details about how to request a copy can be found in here: http://newarkairmuseum.org/Notts_Aviation “
Latest cancellation for a NAM event:
“We have some more disappointing news folks as the decision has been taken to cancel the Cold War Call Up event that was scheduled to take place on 16 & 17 May, 2020.

Sorry!! “
Thanks again for thinking of the Puma project & I will make the rebuild team aware. Not sure that there is a plan around at present to go as far as engine fitment.
To be honest they may be the type of ‘luxury’ item that the museum will be unable to afford after the virus closure!
These web-pages are likely to become very important quite soon!

An update from NAM seen elsewhere!
“Limited shopping opportunity (10am to 1pm) this coming Saturday – an explanation why is outlined in this new item on the museum website!
Just in from NAM:
“Following the receipt of the latest DCMS Briefing the museum trustees have taken the inevitable decision to close the site to visitors until further notice; effective from 4pm tonight!
Once things start to settle down I will be working with everyone at NAM to try and ensure that a revised date is arranged, but in reality it may be best to try and go with the outdoor sale that accompanies Cockpit-Fest. This is due to take place on 20 & 21 June; 2020 – the team at NAM is still preparing for that event.
All that said, as explained in the paperwork that was sent out recently; some minor changes for NAM events were already in the pipeline, due to a change in the VAT status of NAM’s cafe. Challenging times!!
NAM information from other sources:
“Revised view about opening status now on our website! http://newarkairmuseum.org/latest-news
However this could change quickly!!
Please note that the Indoor Aeroboot/Aerojumble due for 4th April – has been CANCELLED”
The Indoor Aeroboot/Aerojumble at Newark Air Museum on 4th April 2020 has been cancelled.

http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/Opening_Status
We are open at present, but for now we have made changes to our open cockpits offer – however as the wider situation develops we will implement changes to reflect any advice of health authorities & Government bodies.”
An update from NAM regarding the April sale:
“A quick post to advise that despite any rumours to the contrary, we have NOT cancelled the Indoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble aviation sale on 4th April.
We are monitoring the coronavirus situation carefully & will keep the situation under review!
Information from Newark:
“Another post to advise that NAM is on Weather Watch again ahead of Storm Jorge – the current plan is to open as normal on Saturday 29th February; and then review the situation during the day and for Sunday 1st March. A few more details on the website.
