Many thanks for posting not another Spitfire thread! Interesting story too 🙂
Flight Sergeant Eric J Else 1392973 by the looks of it.
Duxford? I thought Upottery was the focal point?
JN-3s and -4s were used by UK-based Reserve Squadrons/Training Squadrons during WW1, so there is a UK link (not that there needs to be one!).
They are one and the same thing: little original will be used, but that is common among aircraft described as ‘restorations’.
It’s a Mars I Bamel (as photo caption).
I suspect that’s a link to his/her own post….
These seem to be the only others:

I have more detail on the ’73 and ’76 flights if you want them: maybe PM me with email address?
Next Cape Town seems to be this epic (flight type ‘CH’ – not sure what that is but I guess Charter):

I’ll see if I can find any others.
RAF Museum will send you a record card and remove all doubt!
Yep – same down our way in the Vale of Pewsey (or a bit west): Hercs, Merlins, Chinooks and Osprey are all regular visitors to our roof tiles. And lately the A400Ms have joined in too. Quite impressive when you’re ready for it but less of a lark at 2am when you’re dreaming of Spitfires (honest dear).
Nice one: also a Wessex bod and great to see this happening. Will try to make it for the 21st too!
Did someone criticise Gillespie’s armchair then? Tuh, some people eh?
😉
Does anyone have any info on this? Which aircraft, where etc?
